What on earth is going on with this house?

This house is a bit bizarre to begin with.... but picture 14... wtf is that? A toy gravel pit viewing window perhaps? Clearly just what every house needs

Garage conversion still looks like a garage from the outside

ShellieEllie · 26/01/2020 14:41

and what's with the shower head attached to the toilet piping!?!

HelloYouTwo · 26/01/2020 14:49

As ever this property’s worst problem is their estate agent. Rather SHOUTY about all the FEATURES. Shame they didn’t capitalise BUM HOSE.

AlCalavicci · 26/01/2020 15:12

It has a very unloved / unlived in look .
The glass floor is very odd , is it just inside the front door ? if so it is where most people would have a door mat covering it and the glass would get slippy if you walked in with wet shoes on , it would need cleaning every time someone walked on it with wet / muddy shoes.

I dont like all the tiled floors it would be cold and noisy to walk on .

There is enough space to have a proper office , the desk facing the bed is bloody weird !
I guess the bum hose ( love the name pp ) take up less floor space than a bidet but do the same job .

and as PP said
STOP shouting AT us IT makes IT hard to read AND AGGRESSIVE sounding

It's obviously been lived in by a non-British, most likely Asian family. I find this thread a bit off although I do enjoy mocking other people's bad taste.

Have you been in a very full on Christian household? Statues of a man in agony nailed to a cross, art depicting the Crucifixion, straw crosses? How do you think non British people view these things?

PlumsGalore · 26/01/2020 16:09

Non British most likely Asian????

Or perhaps a British Asian family, they aren’t mutually exclusive!

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 26/01/2020 16:20

Yep, sorry. Most likely British Asian I think.

squee123 · 26/01/2020 16:23

I had no idea the glass floor hole might be religious. Interesting, off to Google some more. As PP said seems odd to have a photo of something that is unusual and then not mention it in the (shouty) description.

Also now intrigued by bum hoses. Do they have warm water? Wouldn't fancy cold water on my nether regions, but it does sound quiet hygienic

In the summer here (KSA) the water is always warm (even out of the tap when brushing your teeth 🤢). But we're in the middle of a very very cold snap right now and it can be rather 'invigorating', but yes, very hygienic and fresh!

DownstairsMixUp · 26/01/2020 16:48

It's zone four London hence the price. I'm from not far from there. Hideous house tho

@Shmithecat2 thanks. Sounds like they'd need to be plumbed for hot water in the UK. In my house the cold is properly cold for most the year, certainly wouldn't fancy a jet of freezing water on my nether regions on a frosty January morning.

They seem much more sensible than bidets, they take up less room and it is a one stop shop with no need to shuffle over to a bidet with your pants round your ankles

What is the random roll in the garden? Unused turf poised to take the place of the missing shrubs perhaps? But why wouldn't you lay it before the pictures were taken?

It's a swimming pool cover. I'm guessing that the pool-shaped gravel-filled area once contained water Grin
