My friend thinks these need to be lower down the wall. Is he right?

I've ordered so Sugru, to try and stick them a bit better to the wall. The potter who made them advised my to use a nail with a blob of blu tack to hang them. Not sure why they couldn't incorporate a hook eye or someone though.

Poor little duck 🦆

Can you use stick on Velcro instead or something from the command range?

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 21:35

Ha ha @FiveShelties, no, after ten years renting it, I've just bought it. So just finishing the decorating.

I've got flying pugs.

Do these ducks need to be lower?
Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 21:39

I was going to get flying cats, but since my house is apparently like the cat cafe. (According to my ex landlord) I though some ducks would be better!

They probably are 😂

Wheat2Harvest · 02/11/2019 21:41

Older people will comment that your wall looks like Hilda Ogden's 'muriel'!

MajesticWhine · 02/11/2019 21:45

@Loveacuppa your pigs are ascending at an alarmingly steep angle

Imonlymoominafterall · 02/11/2019 21:47

This thread is everything I love about the internet.

Loveacuppa · 02/11/2019 21:48

Think I was trying to fill the wall.
Either that or I thought they were so fat they needed a steep takeoff to escape!

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 21:50

When I suggested ages ago to my dad (who is reading this thread) that I wanted some flying ducks, he practically choked on his coffee.as he is a child of the 50's (Just needs to get some fluffy dice for the car now, since I've wanted some since I was about 7)

I take the ducks and walk a little closer to the bin...closer ..closer ...closer ....lift the lid....Perfect! They look wonderful.

Bringonspring · 02/11/2019 21:53

Sorry I couldn’t help it. The ducks are wayyyy better than the pigs!

InsertFunnyUsername · 02/11/2019 21:56

Im loving those ducks.

And I really need those pigs.

InsertFunnyUsername · 02/11/2019 21:57

And I just saw the pugs!

My house is going to have flying animals on every wall thanks to this thread.

Honeyroar · 02/11/2019 21:59

Loveacuppa I thought your pigs were raw chicken wings at first glance! (must wear my glasses more often!)

TheLidoOfThighs · 02/11/2019 22:00

Sugru will be good. I would stick some blobs of sugru to the wall first and let it harden for 24 hrs, then stick the ducks to the blobs with more sugru. That way you won’t be introducing the weight of the ducks until the sugru is firmly attached to the walls.

Alternatively, depending on what the back of the ducks is like, you could shape the sugru into something that would hang on a nail, let it harden and then put picture nails in the wall.

Love the ducks, ignore those who don’t have an appreciation for vintage art Grin I actually want some now for my loo. I hope damaged duck is fixable. I do think the flying pugs are pushing boundaries though.

FiveShelties · 02/11/2019 22:02

@Toddlerteaplease - they will be an investment for the future.

I remember having fluffy dice - looked very cool in my Ford Capri. You can probably guess another 50s child hereGrin

RaininSummer · 02/11/2019 22:02

I had no idea that flying ducks had made a comeback.

Tartyflette · 02/11/2019 22:04

We used to keep ducks in the garden, as pets really. and DH loved the eggs .
You can guess what lots of, er, friends , would bring us as house gifts whenever they came to stay.
The ducks are long gone now and charity shops graciously accepted the chinaware.

realitycalling · 02/11/2019 22:07

Lovely ducks, lovely cat and lovely thread OP Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 22:16

Keeping our fingers and paws crossed that they stay on the wall overnight!

HerkyBaby · 02/11/2019 22:19

Yes! It’s a common mistake to hang things up too high on a wall- not just ducks .
