My friend thinks these need to be lower down the wall. Is he right?

I love this thread.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 20:40

How about this formation or similar? The cat is unusually not telling me her opinion. (She has an opinion on everything)

Never mind the ducks, I just love the cat's catsbum face.

unfathomablefathoms · 02/11/2019 20:43

At the risk of getting overinvested in this... I would swap the little duck with the middle size duck so that the one in the middle position looks further away in the distance.

And I might angle their heads down a bit so they don't look so desperate to reach the ceiling. I think ducks are normally a bit more horizontal in flight, aren't they?

Grin
unfathomablefathoms · 02/11/2019 20:45

And make sure the lowest two aren't on the same horizontal line otherwise they'll look like they're forming a pyramid.

FlamingoAndJohn · 02/11/2019 20:46

Pretend they flew into the room, where would they be?

Shitting over everything.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 20:46

Good idea. That looks better. They have to balance very precariously on a nail with a blob of blu tack on as there is no hook or lip to fix them on. So the faces have to point up wads slightly

Damn you I now want some. I actually remember having these on the wall at home.

Tartyflette · 02/11/2019 20:57

Flying ducks are basically slipstreaming the leader so need to be quite near each other and not too much lower, IFSWIM. See photo.
You've got the blutack at a 45 degree angle which is quite steep.
(I've been looking at Google images and a lot of them have the smallest duck first, though. Must be an arty thing as the biggest duck should go first IMO! )

flamingo ceramic ducks are probably easy to clean up after

unfathomablefathoms · 02/11/2019 21:01

The images I've been looking at not overinvested have been more like this...

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 02/11/2019 21:02

So, you have your ducks in a row, do you 😁 your cat is gorgeous ❤

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 21:08

Ok. Done it. But I've now reached my picture limit so can't post a pic. Loving some of the replies on this thread. Mumsnet at its best! The cats have completely lost interest. Cheddar has buggered off upstairs and the other is snoring in her teepee. Grin

Crisis!! Little duck has fallen off his perch and broken his beak off. Sad

OP posts:
Tartyflette · 02/11/2019 21:20

Try a bit of superglue, unless the beak has shattered. 🤭
Or special ceramic glue.
All is not lost....🤞🏻

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2019 21:21

I've tried superglue. It won't stink and I've got it on my hands. Will try special ceramic glue. Any recommendations? I'm a bit annoyed that they are have nothing to hang on. They were not cheap!

Examssuck · 02/11/2019 21:22

Lowered straight into the bin

DioneTheDiabolist · 02/11/2019 21:24

Did you just use blue tac OP?Confused
I know you can velcro geese to horses, but I don't think you can blue tac ducks to walls.

unfathomablefathoms · 02/11/2019 21:25

Copydex!

Loveacuppa · 02/11/2019 21:26

Loving this.
I've got pigs in the bathroom - did I put them up the right way???!

MeClavdivs · 02/11/2019 21:28

Crisis!! Little duck has fallen off his perch and broken his beak off.

I actually grimaced reading this.

also overinvested

unfathomablefathoms · 02/11/2019 21:29

A more secure hanging method is probably in order... I'm not sure I understood your earlier explanation or its reason.

I've used copydex for broken clay before.

unfathomablefathoms · 02/11/2019 21:31

Loveacuppa they look like they're making a bid for freedom Grin

FiveShelties · 02/11/2019 21:33

Are you staging your house ready for sale? I think the ducks could add a couple of thousand onto the price.
