I think natural light is over rated,I love dark cosiness in a house.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 13/08/2019 11:53

I don't think it was on Grand Designs. It looks like it was developed by the Landmark Trust.

TipseyTorvey · 13/08/2019 11:55

It's absolutely amazing. I'd have it for my second home in a flash. Agree with pp that getting the kids and shopping in and out of the house would be hellish on a daily basis though. 😂

NoBaggyPants · 13/08/2019 11:58

The Landmark Trust lets out another of the Martello Towers. The spec isn't nearly as high but much more cosy.

Absolutely lovely .

Wayyyyy beyond my budget but had I the money I would snap that up . No neighbours would be a plus (I get on with mine but to have none would be fabulous).

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 13/08/2019 12:03

Ah yes. Very different style!

Purplehammer · 13/08/2019 12:10

Couldn’t spend a night alone in that fucker.
I’d sleep outside on the grass.

Skyejuly · 13/08/2019 12:18

I live near here. Hmmm lovely location but not great building.

wonkylegs · 13/08/2019 12:26

Nice conversion of a difficult building
Definitely a lifestyle house probably not one for everyone
I'd love to visit but not for full time living for me, I need more light & views from my bedroom.

SansaClegane · 13/08/2019 12:38

I think I would die from claustrophobia in there... Confused

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 13/08/2019 16:20

i cant stop seeing it as a big wheel of cheese......

separately: gorgeous inside/ scary as fuck outside!!!!

SecretWitch · 13/08/2019 16:26

Looks like a nuclear power type thing. It gives me the shivers

madcatladyforever · 13/08/2019 16:28

Hell yes, my ideal home, isolated, downstairs is a fortress nobody can see into, who needs natural light in a bedroom, you only sleep in there.
I'd die of pure happiness.

Tabitha005 · 13/08/2019 16:30

I LOVE Martello towers. I'd definitely live there if I could afford to buy it. And it's in Suffolk, too - my favourite county.

madcatladyforever · 13/08/2019 16:31

Although the Doctor Who mermen hammering at the door in the night might be a problem!

harper30 · 13/08/2019 16:32

Perfect for the zombie apocalypse

VivaLeBeaver · 13/08/2019 16:34

I guess nobody is going to break in! I think it's lovely inside.

Generally I love the countryside and the idea of no neighbours is bliss to me but I think I might find it a bit spooky. I'd be ok once inside. But I'd be scared running from my car to the door in the dark! And all those steps!

Toknowornot · 13/08/2019 16:55

Not worth it for the money to me.

I'd rather have something like this:

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 13/08/2019 17:00

Hideous! One of the ugliest conversions I've ever seen.

How about this one for a 'fixer - upper'?
Similar circular design, exposed brickwork throughout, plenty of space, sea views!

Tonnerre · 13/08/2019 17:14

If I had 1.25 million to spare I could go for that, but mainly as a second home.

What puzzles me is whether it comes with any land, and how you get there? Can't see any sign of a road.

It's creepy as anything. I wouldn't sleep there. But I like how they have designed the living area, it's clever.
