Hi everyone, I am looking at getting a new bathroom but literally don't have a clue where to start with it so would like some inspiration!! I have a very small bathroom but just love these patterned floor tiles that seem to be in atm! I would be very grateful if you would show me some pictures of your bathrooms to give me some ideas plus if you have any tips on the best quality/price to buy from Grin

Sorry forgot to add if you have recently had a new bathroom (in the last couple years) would you also mind telling me the price you paid to have it fitted. I'm all new to this as you can tell and don't want to go into it blind and get totally ripped off!

Cost about £6k, including making the built in cupboards. In London

isseywithcats · 02/08/2019 16:05

not our choice as it was here but as its a brand new bathroom we are only going to change the flooring to tiles as its carpet at the moment (yuk)

@tomboytown love it!! This is exactly what I am thinking just wasn't sure about pattern in a small bathroom. I live a lot further north than you so hopefully it would be cheaper for us! Where did you get the tiles from?

@isseywithcats sooo lucky to move into a place with a brand new bathroom!! Wish it was the same for us!

@MrsPussinBoots omg amazing!! I wish I had your boldness when it came to decor!!

Thanks for sharing guys Smile

I have the blue ones in my utility area too.
I'd send for a sample, the grey ones are darker than they look in their photos

We are just getting quotes to do ours now, similar style to the first one pictured. The quotes have come in between £6.5k and £11.5k 😵
We are having a complete hit and redo though, so perhaps slight more than a simile like for like switch up.

afromom · 02/08/2019 18:31

I would recommend going somewhere where they will draw you a 3D plan, it has helped us so much to work out what can fit where and how things will look.

popsadaisy · 02/08/2019 19:15

@tomboytown thank you!! Love them Grin and the dog!!

We got our suite from soak.com....4 pedestals and 3 toilets later the suite is now in! I don't know how to send photos, but we got it all for under £3000....full overhaul.... But all piping stayed in the same place! Got black taps... Black shower.... Grey marble tiles with a feature black mosaic strip down the bathroom wall nearly black kardean flooring... And a grey towel rail..... Sooo much better than the 1970 bathroom we lived with for 4years!!! Good luck.... Most stressful room I've decorated!

MrsBobDylan · 02/08/2019 22:01

I did two bathrooms in our previous house - here what I wish I'd known beforehand:

  1. Buy your hardware (taps etc) from a proper bathroom shop. The online stuff (looking at you Victoria Plumb) is pretty shit and not possible to fix (because of lack of compatible parts) if it does go wrong.

  2. porcelain loos and sinks can be cheap as chips and no one will ever know as they are all made from the same material.

We have now moved and I am back in horrible bathroom land Sad Am hoping to get ours done this autumn.

Auntpetunia2015 · 02/08/2019 22:13

My bathroom is 5ft 5” wide by 9ft 2 long the shower and bath are on opposite side as luckily the door is in the middle of the long wall. I was therefore able to utilise all the space well. Pic is literally my whole floor space.

Houzz is a good website for inspiration.

Spinnaret · 02/08/2019 22:34

I went for the patterned tiles on walls rather than floor.

Spinnaret

I have serious bathroom envy!

Spinnaret · 02/08/2019 22:50

Thank you! It was an absolute labour of love and cash at the end of a very over run building project. It is our master en suite. The family bathroom is a lot more average looking!

Another photo, because the panoramic thing has mangled the tile pattern.
