Neither.

I think it's lovely- simple, tasteful decor that is sympathetic to the era of the house.

No decking, plastic grass or grey sparkly shite.

MayFayner · 13/07/2019 18:28

It’s not a dated project- the decor is recent-ish and intentional.

lots33 · 13/07/2019 18:59

I like it too. But i suspect it would need some work.

Not keen - they've tried to trendify a naff, cheap kitchen - a remnant of which is in the sitting room Confused. And what the heck is the flooring - cork tiles?

The stairs are a danger and the nasty lean-to at the rear is an eyesore.

It needs a shit load of work imo.

ViciousTrollop · 13/07/2019 19:10

It looks like it smells really fusty.

JoJoSM2 · 13/07/2019 20:51

I think it is a project. Looking at the radiators, positioning of sockets etc it's probably 30+ years old so will likely need remedial work soon. Having said that, I o find it tastefully decorated.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 13/07/2019 20:56

Dated project. That salmon stair carpet tells me everything I need to knkw

SheilaHammond · 13/07/2019 20:58

I really like it. I wouldn’t do much except the flooring.

Gingernaut · 13/07/2019 20:58

Some of those ceiling lights are on cables! 😱

It needs heating and a rewire at the very least.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 13/07/2019 21:01

It's quite trendy to have lights on cables like that, maybe it's intentional. 🤷

I quite like it, we always end up buying places like that.

georgialondon · 13/07/2019 21:08

That house seems so cheap! I like it.

Gingerkittykat · 13/07/2019 21:23

I can't believe how expensive that it, a house like that here would be less than 150 000.

Looks dated, I can imagine a man with a dodgy moustache and cigar in that bathroom, weird bedroom cabinet, what is that flooring and how would you clean it?

Ambydex · 13/07/2019 21:40

Project. Doable but not trivial, eg the ceilings.

MaybeitsMaybelline · 13/07/2019 22:18

I think it’s dated, they haven’t had the money to modernise so have accessorised to pretend they are into retro 70s style.

goldpendant · 13/07/2019 22:43

Is that ply on the floor? It was in our place when we bought it, I think it was trendy for designers/architects in the 90's? Anyway, it's quite charming but I expect there's a lot of work to do that you can't necessarily see on first glance.

JoJoSM2 · 13/07/2019 22:45

Ply. And then lino in the kitchen and not even properly laid.

jemihap · 14/07/2019 05:53

''I think it’s dated, they haven’t had the money to modernise so have accessorised to pretend they are into retro 70s style.''

Is the correct answer.

The bathroom could possibly just about get away with being described as iconic 70's but everything else in the house is just dated, cheap and naff.

BitOfFun · 14/07/2019 05:58

I love it, apart from the brown bedroom.

BurningTheToast · 14/07/2019 06:42

The style is okay, but looking at the kitchen unit, flooring, radiators and so on, I would guess it was modernised in the 70s and not been touched since - the lack of original banisters, the washbasin in the bedroom and so on. So yes, it's a project because if those things need updating, so will things like electrics and boilers.

I do rather like the bathroom in the last pic though!

Preggosaurus9 · 14/07/2019 06:45

Those bedrooms Envy not envy

Dinosauraddict · 14/07/2019 08:01

Dated. Very dated. Would need to change nearly all the flooring, that cheap kitchen, and dear Lord those wallpaper selections! However that house has some really nice points including the fireplace.

ChippyMinton · 14/07/2019 08:06

Definitely a project.

origamiunicorn · 14/07/2019 08:09

It's dated. That fireplace gives me the jeebies.

Itscoldouthere · 14/07/2019 11:03

It’s definately a project, the current owners have done what they can to make it look ok but obviously haven’t spent any serious money.
It could shape up into a really lovely house.
Looks like it’s sold though 🤔
