That house looks absolutely freezing. Literally.

Dated project. I don't think it's possible to do hipster in Walton-on-Thames. It's a bit like saying, 'the edgy part of Knightsbridge'.

It needs new everything and some of the wallpaper is terrifying. I'm not sure what I'd do with that space at the front of the house but curtaining it off to create an office wouldn't be it.

That said, I reckon you could cottagify it nicely with plenty of money. It overlooks a nice green. If I bought it, it would get a hosedown with Fired Earth, Alno, Little Greene and the White Company. And the wanking shed workshop would have to go.

It looks like the kind of cold fusty smelling house some of my mums friends had in the 80s. It needs alot spending on it to get it upto scratch, or maybe just find tenants that would have to put up with living in those conditions. I bet there's slugs in that kitchen.

I quite like it but that ceiling - what's it made of? Is it non-standard so may raise questions when trying to get a mortgage?

I like the idea of the porch thing at the back.

It’s v charming and to me I imagine some lived a happy long life there. According to RM it hasn’t changed hands since at least 1995. Looks like the previous owners had a definite original MCM style when they decorated back in the day - and the fashion has come around again - but I agree with PP - I bet it is cold, fusty and sluggy.....would need a total refurb but looks a good price for the location?

BlueSkiesLies · 14/07/2019 16:51

It’s dated but they have made it hipster chic with their sympathetic styling :-)

Bottledate · 14/07/2019 17:53

The lino in kitchen has ridges and the cork (or carpet) tiles look awfully mismatched. Other than that, assuming it's structurally ok, I could live in it.

Just noticed the price. Shock
But if that's a good price (!!!) for -what could a beautiful hour in - the area...

A dated project that the vendors are trying to pass off as intentional hipster chic.

Which is not to say I don't like it as a property. The actual building looks fairly solid and charming. But I'd be wanting a chunky budget for renovation.

I love that "it's so expensive!" and "it's so cheap!" posts are literally right up against each other Grin

550k for a semi?!

NoTheresa · 14/07/2019 23:38

Fabulous. Oozing character and style. Love it.

NoTheresa · 14/07/2019 23:40

But you have to gave taste to get that.
