For those wanting to see CAD vs reality, I think it's pretty close!!

We bought a Simple Human bin which our kitchen fitter installed and said it was better quality than the ones he normally fits supplied by the kitchen company. We have a 30l one but I belive they do doubles and triples.

mum2015 · 17/05/2019 11:05

@WorrisomeHeart,

Thank you for posting linwood pictures . Also for pantries ! Grin on panties Grin

The picture is the corner walk-in pantry. If you find 1000mm corner pantry , please take a photo of inside.

mum2015 · 17/05/2019 11:07

@PazRaz10,

Thanks. I can play find the difference between real and cad photo of your kitchen. Number of bottles are different 😀

WorrisomeHeart · 17/05/2019 11:36

mum2015 they don’t have one on the showroom floor but they do have one in their staff room that is partially dismantled that she let me have a look at 😂

That walk in corner pantry is sooo good! I wish the company we are going with did it like that instead of cutting off a section.

If it helps the 1000 corner tall unit we are going for looks like this on the inside. I don't know if DIYK do one but it looks mostly like a configuration thing.

I think I have worked out that only 40% of our current use of storage in the kitchen is food. The rest seems to be tupperware, lunchboxes, plates and pots etc. Is there ever a good way to store tupperware?!

@PazRaz10, that is such a good CAD you had!

WorrisomeHeart · 17/05/2019 12:15

Soaked - I am planning for my plastics to go into a pan drawer with some inserts to try and keep them organised. Love pan drawers and will likely have no base cupboards at all, just drawers of various sizes and configurations

mum2015 · 17/05/2019 12:29

@WorrisomeHeart,
Thank you for that staff room pantry. It can accommodate a lot of stuff!!!

mum2015 · 17/05/2019 12:31

Though I do wonder if they have used a triangle shaped shelf where the purse are instead of usual L shape one it comes with.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 17/05/2019 13:44

Is there ever a good way to store tupperware?!

The best think I've found is not to have loads of different sizes.
I have quite a few but they are only Small and Medium, so they all nest inside each other. The one mismatched one is a pain

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 17/05/2019 13:46

@WorrisomeHeart Thank you for the pantries and bins

Stokey · 17/05/2019 14:16

Wheredoesthetoiletgo we decided to go bespoke purely to get a pantry cupboard similar to what you posted.

Our joiner recommends Eurocargo bins, lots of good separation options.

WorrisomeHeart · 17/05/2019 14:21

mum2015 she did say that they’d taken some of the shelves out.

I highly recommend a trip to the showroom if you’re in the area - the staff were so knowledgeable and they can pick up from the local stations. Plus they have cake on tap!! (I would totally include a cake tap in my plan if there was such a thing 😂)

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 17/05/2019 14:26

Thankfully NO pictures of panties!

chopc · 17/05/2019 14:55

@Hoppahouse I can't find where you were advised about the American fridge freezer looks fab. Which one did you get?

WorrisomeHeart · 17/05/2019 14:57

Ok so you probably figured this was coming 😂. New kitchen plans. Help me choose - I am veering towards the one with the straight pantry rather than the gorgeous corner one as it gives more bench space for kettles etc.

Waiting on Building Warrant here too. I’m sure it says on the website it normally takes 20 days but not sure if that’s in reference to something else.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 17/05/2019 15:13

@WorrisomeHeart
I know you really love the corner pantry but I think the layout with the straight one looks much better.
With the corner one, you have a single wall unit looking all lonely to the left of it.
I think the corner ones can really dominate a kitchen unless it's really big. Yours looks a decent size but not huge

WorrisomeHeart · 17/05/2019 15:20

Thanks wheredoes I think the corner is more of a ‘heart’ choice rather than a ‘head’ one. It is lovely but I also really like the pull out drawer option on the straight pantry. Now the only thing left is to convince DH 😜

soakedat3 · 17/05/2019 15:37

It's a pain isn't it @Greenfield19? It's different council by council. Our guideline is 4-6wks. Think we're just past the 4 mark.

@worrisoneheart, I think the straight larder looks better too. The corner looks a bit clunky there.

Thanks for the tips on tupperware. Having good ogle on Pinterest and that Martha Stewart really knows her stuff! Off to look at Eurocargo bins while dd is swimming. Smile

Greenfield19 · 17/05/2019 16:54

Do any of you follow any good renovation Instagram accounts or subscribe to any YouTube channels?

Hoppahouse · 17/05/2019 18:10

@chopc - it's the Hisense FF with double doors at the top and bottom. We bought ours from AO with topCashback. We got an ice maker thing in it, although it isn't in the pictures on the website and it seems it doesn't usually come with one 🤷‍♀️😀

I think I like the straight larder cupboard too.

Hoppahouse · 17/05/2019 18:10

The FF

Advice please re silly little 150mm wide units.

First kitchen plan included 4 of these mainly because designer was obsessed with symmetry (over function)
I asked him to get rid of them as they are wasteful of space.

Now jiggling things around myself before another planning meeting on Wednesday...
From the left- (all units go to ceiling)
920mm American FF surrounded by 1000 housing with top cupboards
300mm cupboard for broom, ironing board
Then
600mm housing with oven and compact oven

Good - gives me the storage I want /like
Bad - it looks really unbalanced with FF at end of run with a gappy end panel

Visually it would look better to have 150mm units on either side of FF to frame it but what to put in 2 full height skinny units?
There isn't room for 300 on either side of FF
