Our house has been on the market for a month. It went on the day of the brexit vote which was probably unfortunate.

We’ve had a few viewings and one second viewing from someone who said they’d probably offer when theirs sells. But there’s not been as much interest as, I’ll be honest, I was confident there would be.

I’ve got my tin hat on, so please, give me your honest views.

FYI the bedrooms are not as vibrant colours as they look in the photos and the garden is huge and mature - the winter photos aren’t showing it at its best.

Here goes nothing...

Thanks all. Had a viewing this morning which went well - I’m crediting the oranges on the table Wink

More feedback that it’s so much better in the flesh! Photos top on my hit list.

Good luck, hopefully more viewings soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Well done on being so proactive and taking advice BTW. So often posters come on here, ask for advice, 90% of posters say the same thing and then the OP argues with it.

“ Redecorate that black bedroom “

No, my teenage son loves it and that wallpaper was very expensive.

“ Remove that third sofa In the living room that makes it so cramped “

No, it was my grans, it has sentimental value.

“ Pack away the nude photos and large collection of porn “

No, I think it gives our house character.

Etc etc etc

There are always tweaks that can be made, but I think the main things for your house are -
Better image of front of the house. Get some pots in with winter colour. Possibly paint the front door.
Repaint the kitchen a more neutral tone. Add some shelves to the bare wall where the oven is and dress them to add colour and texture.
Bathroom - tiles need sorting, so either remove if stickers or paint them carefully with tile paint if they're not.
Back garden really needs a tidy up. Good weather forecast for this weekend so get the decking swept, tidied and furniture arranged properly, grass cut, then a new photos in sunshine and some blue sky.

Agree re front of house. Some planters with spring flowers would do the trick. Maybe an updated photo of garden also with spring flowers It is a perfectly lovely house, but the first picture is not doing it justice.

I don't understand all the comments about colours and " clutter". . I think your presentation is good.People buy houses that are complete wrecks !! I certainly have.

I would make the hall as welcoming as possible.

It's lovely.
Bathroom tiles are AMAZING

agree about main pic. Good luck !

I don't think it is over priced, nice area of Sheffield and you're getting a lot of house there, just not an ideal lay out.

Personally I would pain the bedrooms in neutral colours. Would detract form the coloured tiles a bit.
