Is it strange to buy a house with double garage when you only have 1 car?

Thinking of buying a house that has a double garage but we only have 1 car. Would you do it? I think our car might look strange by itself?

Are you meant to put your car in the garage? We’ve never done that. Next door do, but they have a tiny little car and just the two of them in their big house, so loads of spare space. We have a big car and 5 of us, in less space than next door. The garage is full of stuff that won’t fit anywhere else. So, definitely fine to buy a house with a big garage and only one car, I’m sure you will fill the space with something.

I looked at a house today and, when I looked in the garage, I was quite surprised to find a car in there. The owner had to park very close to the wall so that she could open the driver’s door. I think I’d use the garage for storing bikes and lawnmovers and assorted crap instead.

One for the car and one for all the garden gear, the camping/skiing gear/whatever bulky gear you have and easier to access storage than the loft.

We have a triple garage and neither of our cars have ever been in it. It's had two lawn tractors in it, billions of kids bikes, buggies, Christmas decorations, tools, paints, timber, old wardrobe, cardboard boxes waiting to go to the tip, our ever expanding collection of ladders and lots and lots of spiders but no car. The previous owners never put their cars in it either.

Crap expands to fill all available space

We have a double garage and our cars have never graced it. One is now a playroom and the other is jam packed with well crap basically and a extra fridge freezer. To get to fridge freezer I have to complete an obstacle course which leaves me quite breathless and exhausted

Crap expands to fill all available space

This is pretty much an actual law of physics.
