Go Olivia!!! After 4 viewings they are taking the piss. And as for the whole ultimatum thing - as you say, they need to commit or fuck off, instead of constantly dangling the threat over your heads.

Am envious of you hearing from your solicitor already Yoo. I'm quietly betting to myself as to whether I manage to get hold of mine before or after lunchtime....

Lazy I know it seems like we’ve luckily got a good one. The firm is quite small and is also handling my divorce and has done all the conveyancing for my family for years so I think they might be a bit scared of an ear bashing from my Mum

Oh yes she used to work for a new house builder so is good at chasing chains! Sigh, just heard from the ex and he’s left contracts at home even though I messaged him at 5am and he replied at 7am to say yep he’d take them to work. I swear I’m surrounded by incompetent idiots 😂 Have also heard back from my buyers and their FTBs solicitor is really slow apparently so I don’t think they are ready to sign contracts yet spending my whole life worrying about it all at the moment I just want it DONE and to get into my own place! Sorry, rant/feeling sorry for myself over!

I don't understand this 'not ready to sign contracts' nonsense. It was one of the first things that came up on our conveyancing 'to do' list, and the solicitors made clear that they basically weren't worth a thing until they were dated and confirmed on day of exchange. There's no harm getting them done sooner rather than later!

No Ness he won’t do that 😫 never mind he should be able to post them back tomorrow, just means I’ve got to then wait for them to get to me via post. I hate this whole process, stomps feet!

Have just sent an email to our solicitor this morning, asking for a chaser to the top of the chain. We'll see if that gets us anywhere, but I am not optimistic. They have apparently been driving our vendors' solicitor utterly mad - they refuse to reply or respond to any enquiries or chasers until they are ready, but the moment they send something out they have been jumping up and down for a response
But yet it's absolutely fiiiine for them to ignore us and give no explanation of why they are holding everything up. AAAARRRGGGHHH!

I have a question. On our contract it says we are to remove rubbish - does anyone know does this include our refuge that is currently in our outside wheelie bin? I sort of assumed it just meant rubbish from inside the house and not the rubbish waiting for collection, but now I am doubting that. I have visions having to take all our recycling that isn't due for collection this week to the main recycling centre.

I think it means inside the house and in garden, perhaps. Our bins won't be collected until the Weds after we move if we move and there's no way I'm emptying them! When our neighbours moved they left theirs overflowing, so don't worry about it.

Yay, being bolshy does work. Buyer's back down on viewing, funds are showing in their account and they've shown EA proof - we're exchanging today!!

My sol rang at 9.30. He’s only getting buyer’s sol’s voicemail. I’ve emailed all EAs and asked them to chase everyone up. I’m considering also emailing the buyer because she’s as keen as me.

won't be an exchange monday for us but it should all become official that we will be exchanging for our sale and locking that in THIS WEEK

(the purchase one will come later and if it doesn't for any reason we plan to buy something no chain that is awesome but not a forever home)

found some ace airbnb's and we'll get one secured soon as we have official agreement and the go ahead from our buyer that exchange is happening. Should be soon. They offered us this option Friday so hope it's still on the table!

I feel you frustration, Lazy, the clueless sloth at the bottom of our chain is already renting the flat he's buying from our buyer (if you follow me) so of course he doesn't give a fuck when anything happens, it's all about him.

Ann we will be leaving wheelie bins etc as they are, I think everyone does.

I'm just building up for today's raft of pissy calls trying to get the bottom of the chain to pay his fucking deposit so everything else can move. I'm feeling super tense and so sick of this all.

Hopefully we will all have some good progress this week as there will have been a lot of completions Friday so they might get a wriggle on for all of us

Well Mr & Mrs 40 min Saturday viewing likes ours best out of everything they've seen, is a FTB and is giving it some thought. So fingers permanently crossed.

Speaking to friend who works in the EA business but on the commercial side Saturday evening and he said that if Mr Lovely Vendor doesn't want to part-ex our EA could. I didn't really understand how though because we need the house equity to buy the new one. So I probably need to speak to friend somewhere quieter than a Hallowe'en party and find out more
