Sounds like great progress @TeamRick

@NamedyChangedy we will have two taps holes not three. Maybe the issue is to do with the incoming pipes or something?

So our worktop didn’t arrive yesterday. The installer got delayed so we’ve been pushed to Monday. The same day as the wood stove installation. The place is really coming together now!!!

Believeitornot · 02/12/2017 07:43

@PumpingRSI can you ring the builder for help? That’s what I did when our wood arrived!!! The head builder sent three of his “lads” to carry it all inside for me Blush

Baxdream · 02/12/2017 10:59

My kitchen is currently being fitted! Hubby is doing a mist coat in the snug.
The decorator has popped round to quote and we're waiting on the window fitter to arrive.
It's a busy Saturday here!

Glad there's lots of progress in here! You can really tell that Christmas is approaching!

DustandRubble · 02/12/2017 12:33

Our builders are here and knocking down more walls. The bad news is we are quite behind so a kitchen for Christmas looks unlikely as we don’t think we can hit cut off dates for ordering. The good news is that we may claw back a lot of time as the conservatory we removed turns out to have been built on an amazing foundation. The architect is checking with building control if we can just reuse it, and then we don’t need to dig & pour new foundations. Which will allow the builders to claw back a lot of lost time.

TeamRick · 02/12/2017 18:13

Right so here we are!

Not quite finished yet, island needs to be finished, we need to tile & decorate but here we are!

That looks amazing teamrick , you must be so pleased after all the agro you've had. The floor looks great.

PumpingRSI · 03/12/2017 06:22

Yay Teamrick - windows!!

And kitchens!
I'm not that long away but it feels like ages still.
Pretty much no chance of stove being stolen unless someone put some serious equipment down our drive so have just covered over with a tarp! We do have our lintel in over fireplace tho. Decided not to go for wood or concrete so bought a remained piece of stone lintel and it looks fab.

Oh and the mumsnet taps arrived and such good solid quality. At the moment the detachable end just falls out but I assume when fitted and a weight out on it will stay in.

Looks fantastic, Rick! What a great space.

And Bax you're getting there - when do they think they'll be done, with the kitchen at least?

With my tap situation, I was planning on using the smaller bowl for the boiling water tap and waste disposal. That way children & guests know to only use the 'big sink'.

But worktop man says we need the mixer tap over the small bowl so we can rinse out the waste disposal. As it's a pull-out tap I'd assumed the hose could stretch over but I haven't actually checked tbh. Think I need to get everything out of the boxes and make sure. Also need to check whether I can fit a pan into the half-bowl, for pasta etc.

That's one of those details that seems quite minor but would make a big difference to how it all works.

TeamRick · 03/12/2017 11:43

Thank you! Very excited!

That is a nice looking lintle.

DustandRubble · 03/12/2017 11:53

Your kitchen looks a similar size and layout to ours so I am excitedly watching progress Rick!

Believeitornot · 03/12/2017 14:07

Looks great TeamRick!! Wonderful. I like the sink.

PumpingRSI, what finish are you going for around the stove? Ours is being fitted tomorrow but I think there’s no surround...

Here’s pictures of kitchen without worktop..

That looks super believe!

Baxdream · 03/12/2017 14:23

Some gorgeous looking kitchens 😍😍😍
We're just carcasses at the moment so hard to gauge a true picture! Either way it's a lovely big kitchen!
Not sure when it's finished but definitely pre Christmas

Titsywoo · 03/12/2017 17:57

Kitchens are all looking great :)

We spent 7 hours yesterday cleaning up all the dust Shock. Feels so much better to be clean though! Decorator starts tomorrow upstairs. The kids have chosen some truly horrific colours for their rooms! DS has chosen this Hmm. I kind of wish I hadn't promised them they could have whatever they wanted now. They are 13 and 11 so I thought they might be sensible. Ha!

DD has chosen this wallpaper for a feature wall in her room. I tried to encourage a pale grey for the other walls and she nearly went for it but at the last moment has gone for a pale violet instead. She said she'll be covering it in posters anyway so doubt it will matter much. The bathroom is part tiled so DD decided on F&B Moles Breath for the rest of the walls which is dark but I think will look nice.

Now I need to think about the hallway. I'm tempted by a greyish blue but not sure if it's too dark...

DustandRubble · 03/12/2017 18:30

I really like the colour your DS chose!

Titsywoo · 03/12/2017 19:02

Really dust? It scares me a bit Grin

DustandRubble · 03/12/2017 20:19

I like strong colours, it’ll look great. Are you doing all walls in that colour or mixing it up?

My DS has requested a green bedroom and wants full on green. I am going to try and do a white wall or two with it to keep it bright.

Sushiqueen · 03/12/2017 21:39

The kitchens are looking fantastic - very jealous Grin

PumpingRSI · 03/12/2017 21:47

Whatthefox - what do you mean around the stove? Behind it will be fireproof boarding and I'm trying to decide whether to tile or use brick slips. It'll probably sit on slate hearth. The lintel projects about 100mm so enough for shallow mantelpiece effect with walls plastered and painted. Eventually!

PumpingRSI · 03/12/2017 21:48

Sorry, I'm replying to Believe, not WTFox.
As you were...

Titsywoo · 03/12/2017 22:41

He wants the whole room in the same colour. I figure with all white furniture against the walls it will break it up enough plus it's a south facing room with a big window so hopefully won't be too dark.

A green bedroom sounds great - I've always wanted a room in a deep green but DH hates the thought!
