Right, any thoughts (apart from brexit uncertainty) as to why no one wants to buy this house?

We had a buyer back in March but that fell through and since then we've lowered the price by over 10k, had a few viewings in May when it went back on the market but nothing since Sad

It's a two bed end terrace with great transport links and two private parking spaces, loads of loft space and double glazing. It's smallish, but cosy and pleasant and an ideal first buy for a young couple (that's why we bought it five years ago). Lovely neighbours and a peaceful cul de sac location. Really positive feedback from the viewings we've had, but no new offers so far. It's priced well for the area.

Any glaring issues (fixable Ines! I.e. The kitchen is small but not a lot we can do about that Grin)?

Honest thoughts appreciated...

It's so so so tiny! 584 square foot it not an appropriate size for a 2 bed property.

I think I posted this in the wrong thread the other day, but it's way too close to the motorway for me. Noise, pollution, and with the huge increase in diesel traffic thanks to Blair and the known health effects diesel fumes cause (increase in cancer risk, and children close to motorways have an increase tendency to suffer asthma, lukemia and autism according to - I think American - research).

PickAChew · 03/07/2017 14:54

Well, that's a bit ass backwards, drummer, since diesel cars aren't commonplace in the US.

Two viewings booked in for tomorrow Grin we haven't even made any changes yet!

Fingers crossed!

Hope all goes well. I think you are likely to get low offers, so keep an eye on actual selling prices on the land registry site. Imo prices are genuinely starting to come down.

Almostthere15 · 03/07/2017 20:34

Fingers crossed for you. Those front pictures are much nicer but you need to shape the hedge a but, don't have the pic with a dig poo sign up (makes me think it's a problem) and move the bin out of the way. I think it is worth taking your own pictures but be prepared to experiment and move things in and out of shot. You're right that clutter is off putting but it needs some warmth.

I'd leave the floor alone but bring the rug down (and have it on show for viewings). If you're happy to spend on tiles I'd do the kitchen (and maybe the bathroom) because I think those border tiles really date it.

I think the garden is fine, be wary of pots because if you're not a big gardener then they are more work than planted in the ground.

SOLD THE BUGGER! Grin
Had two viewings this week and second viewers offered us 205k today which we're happy with and works with our proposed purchase. Thanks so much for your help!

I've just signed up to Mumsnet but I think your house looks lovely. Good luck with finding a buyer.

GrubbyWindows · 09/07/2017 12:12

Woo hoo!
Mumsnet vindicated- lovely poster asks advice, takes it on board and plans to act accordingly... and sells the house before she gets a chance to do anything! Not sure what that says about our collective advice (but super pleased for you, OP)
