St Anthonys Road, Blundellsands, Merseyside

Can you find fault with it?
Needs new kitchen and new bathrooms probably but that's ok
Size of the garden!

Love the kitchen! Best bit

SkeletonSkins · 14/04/2017 19:55

What area do you want to live in?

I'd rather live in Formby, only a bit further along the railway and just nicer:

Lydiate is more rural but also lovely www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-47283309.html

Ferrisday · 14/04/2017 19:56

There's a bathroom upstairs and a bathroom downstairs + the plumbed possible ensuite
There are 2 proper bedrooms on the 2nd floor, + a small loft room.
I know the area well, v good transport links and lots of schools.

I think I like it because to have this much garden and not be overlooked where I live is unheard of. And for this size house would probably be about 4m.

That Lydiate house is horrible - like a small hotel. And can't walk to the beach.

SkeletonSkins · 14/04/2017 19:58

This is done really nicely and already has a kitchen similar to what you're after!

SkeletonSkins · 14/04/2017 20:01

Ah missed your point about overlooked garden.

Can you go and have a look at the one you love? It has the potential to be lovely but is expensive considering still lots needing doing.

SwedishEdith · 14/04/2017 20:05

Nicer

Ferrisday · 14/04/2017 20:07

Skeleton- that Formby house seems so cramped after looking at these size rooms, and that type of house I'd have to change every single room. I hate conservatories with a passion.

Lydiate one -similar really. I'd have to change every single room. I don't want bedrooms that just fit a double bed, 2 bedside tables and that's it.

This is what I've found with most houses in this area. They're all old fashioned. Lots of conservatories
But these old Edwardian houses-mainly in Crosby have the big rooms, old features, but can be updated.
This seems to have the start of the update, which I could finish just how I wanted.

Did you both find that same house?!

It's lovely

I like this one!

dotdotdotmustdash · 14/04/2017 20:18

This is cheaper and has an indoor pool!

Spend the difference on a nice holiday home somewhere warm.

Ferrisday · 14/04/2017 20:19

But I still prefer mine!
I'd have to change that garden and I don't like the bathrooms or the kitchen(hate black work tops)
See- I usually want to change everything!

I think if I knocked through kitchen/lounge
Lightened all the floors
New sleek shower rooms

That bit of coast northwest of liverpool has some amazing houses.
It's where the money earned in Liverpool went to live.

I love Blundellsands and Southport

mustiwearabra · 14/04/2017 20:28

As long as you're happy to put money into decorating and furnishing then it's a good 'un. It's very confused decor-wise but the space available is great.

Ferrisday · 14/04/2017 20:36

I looked at that FarMoss Rd one.
I'd have to change all the bathrooms and I hate conservatories
That Hightown one, I'd have to change everything, all those old wardrobes. The garden, what's all that junk. Ds would love the treehouse though.

It's the layout, big spacious living areas, with separate lounge as well.

I had this one saved for a while
Barn conversion, but there are similarities

SwedishEdith · 14/04/2017 20:48

Look at this! I'd need to change wallpaper etc but that view from the kerb!

SwedishEdith · 14/04/2017 20:53

The hall!

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 14/04/2017 20:54

Great house, but a lot of space to heat and maintain if you don't need it.

Are you near to the Anthony Gormley sculptures there? On that basis alone, I'd urge you to buy it and invite me to stay

Beautiful beaches in that area anyway.

SwedishEdith · 14/04/2017 20:58

Another barn conversion

Ferrisday · 14/04/2017 20:58

Yes, it's that beach !

OP posts:
Shortdarkandfeisty · 14/04/2017 21:06

Low ceilings in that barn conversion- it looks oppressive to me

Shortdarkandfeisty · 14/04/2017 21:09

I mean the first barn conversion- that Orchard one is lovely

MistyMinge · 14/04/2017 21:31

I really like it. A mix of quirky and traditional. You sound like you really love it. Have you had a viewing?

I think it's good the kitchen hasn't been done. You can do it how you want to, presuming you could afford to.
