St Anthonys Road, Blundellsands, Merseyside
www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-43392936.html

Can you find fault with it?
Needs new kitchen and new bathrooms probably but that's ok
Size of the garden!

Pizzas- I don't need a big house, you're right.
I need a big house now, because I have lots of visitors, my family.
But if moved to this house my family would be close by, so wouldn't really need the bedrooms.
But I love the space.
And I am still thinking of lots of outside entertaining.
And bedrooms for sleepovers
And ds's friends and cousins.
And a band in the Summer house
And more dogs

Will you get to keep this freakyshit delight?

Kitchen is fabulously retro but probably a bit impractical for modern day living now.

I love it. But I'm a heart over head kind of person who probably shouldn't be listened to Grin

I can't really work it out. Looks better from the outside but seems all higgledy inside. And agree that it's too big, too overextended. I'd still go and look at it though if in my price range.

It's a lot of house to clean. And pay council tax on.

The living room will be dark due to being landlocked, my friend did this with her extension, loads of light floods in through the velux but doesn't really reach the room it is attached to.

You could find another house that would offer you more downstairs space for your entertaining and less bedrooms, plus a large garden.

I would be questioning why someone has abandoned the renovation they started (probably because they ran out of money and underestimated how much these things cost.)

If you don't need all the rooms then it is a lot of space to furnish, decorate and heat for no real reason.

I like the higgeldy
I like the fireplaces in the alcoves
I like big kitchen/diner/ lounge.

I'd like to knock down that kitchen wall, if not, open it up somehow
I saw this today
Imagine?!

I think it looks lovely, and the move is about more than the house.

Honestly, my home is lovely, and renevated to our taste, but I'd be ashamed to let the majority of mumsnet posters in .who think this house is simply not good enough. You all must live in veritable magazine, show home worth houses. Confused

Op, I for one don't have the money the others have and I think you don't need all those new things that the posters here would need. It's lovely as it stands and you could do things as and when you feel they need doing.

Can I live with you?

I could swish round that house all day!

You could easily have a cosy living room and a more open house living room - you have a choice!

Modern kitchen would add value and the main work has been done!!

Go and look and report bac!

Yes, I would knock down the kitchen wall (but it might be load bearing) as well - I was thinking that - it would be a lovely space.

We were thinking about moving to Liverpool but decided not to. We were sent details of this

My concerns were the schools - although might have been spoiled by living in Trafford. I think it's very toppy for the price around there and I agree that it looked like a lot of the work has probably been bodged. We are hopefully in the process of buying a similar house in Cheshire and basically have resigned ourselves to gutting a lot if it as it will cost the builder more to put right the bodgy DIY from the previous owners

Bluntness- yes, the move is more about the house.
I'm not convinced about upping sticks, I really love where we live now.
Ds is very happy in an amazing school.

But we have no family around- although they visit a lot.
But I also like the distance sometimes as much as I love them.

Says it was reduced early March, so can't see original date or price
But date on EPC is June 2016, so might have been on the market for a while

What's wrong with Merseyside?

All the back rooms are north facing so they'd be dark, especially in winter. I prefer main living spaces to be south or west facing. Other than that I like it (would love a garden that size).

I never think of that Orange
I always work out where the sun would be on the garden in Summer , but not the rooms.
But the sun can't be on every room all the time-

No it can't, but with this house the sun will be shining into the rooms at the front for most of the day. It just depends on what is most important to you and how you use the space.

If it was me, i'd be making a lovely master suite out of the two back bedrooms. Master bedroom on the right, with door through to dressing room, and then door through to ensuite. Amazing!

Decorative wise it's poor - the lounge carpet looks grim, but I suppose this is cosmetic. The kitchen is old fashioned and personally I don't like that. I would want to redo it.
If I'm reading this correctly it's got 6 bedrooms but only one bathroom and the ensuite just has plumbing? No actual suit?, I would want another toilet downstairs and possibly another bedroom to have an ensuite. Especially if you have a big family.
The garden is beautiful, and from the photo it has kerb appeal.
It mentions 'attic room' is their planning permission or would this need to be applied to retrospectively, and you would need (I think to ) check its fire regs are current.
Location/price. No idea. What's other properties in the area going for?, schools? Transport links?, how much money can you afford to put into it to do decoration? You wouldn't be able to get away with off the shelf kitchens, and purpose built will cost.
If you can afford it, and your family love it, I would go for it. You may not see something like this for this price bracket.

It's just too big. I don't love it. The photos are abysmal.

And just to be pernickity, that brick monstrosity on the wall with the tv hung above it is hideous.
