There is a man painting my kitchen right now and I hate it :(

I have the decorators in.

I picked out a nice pale green to go well with my oak units. But the green's not pale, it's fucking vivid. And now it's all over my walls and I want to cry.

It's ruined my lovely new very expensive kitchen. It looks cheap and nasty.

I can't return the paint because it's one of those companies that makes it up for you so it's not off the shelf.

I want to cry. I hate my life.

I've wasted loads of money because it need re-doing again, immediately Sad

Northern No, it hasn't been particularly difficult project but obviously it's always a pain having a massive disruption like the kitchen done. I'm a weirdo, I get very stressed about little things but massive things I can see very clearly solutions to IYSWIM.

Yes, I was "working at home" today. I've done bugger all.

Tizzy Yeah I always thought you cut in first but he didn't on the first colour. He did when he put up the second colour though (cut in first I mean).

Thanks Baking upthread for the overtly olive wall pic. It looks lovely.

Op, that looks better now chill.

Oh that's MUCH nicer well done OP! I would get stressed too, obviously not in a ' the house is flooded' degree but still stressy on a minor level of stress.

I just wanted to chime in with another lovely green offering - we have Valspar Morning Downpour in the lounge, it's a beautiful pale sagey/grey green.
Love the look of the second colour - couldn't be more different!

OP the exact same thing happened to me years ago. I picked out a dulux colour which I thought was a light fresh green colour. Put it on the wallls and it was almost fluorescent lime green Shock we kept telling ourselves it would be better when it dried..it wasn't. It was like Kermit the frog colour. Tried mixing it with white-made no difference. We tried o convince ourselves it wasn't that bad but in the end repainted with magnolia just to get rid!

Don't people try a small stripe of paint first to see what colour it is? Before going in and doing the whole room?Hmmconfused.

Lumps the OP explained she didn't get a tester pot.

I'm guessing with the second colour the decorator didn't cut in first so he could get plenty on the walls quickly for the OP to see and be sure of.
