There is a man painting my kitchen right now and I hate it :(

I have the decorators in.

I picked out a nice pale green to go well with my oak units. But the green's not pale, it's fucking vivid. And now it's all over my walls and I want to cry.

It's ruined my lovely new very expensive kitchen. It looks cheap and nasty.

I can't return the paint because it's one of those companies that makes it up for you so it's not off the shelf.

I want to cry. I hate my life.

I've wasted loads of money because it need re-doing again, immediately Sad

I've got a swatch of tungsten green next to me. It's a pretty colour but quite a zingy lime'y colour. I don't think I'd describe it as a subtle grown up colour....

I'm worried. 😱😱😱

However, the one thing I've learnt from decorating lots of houses is that every colour looks different in different rooms so it might be perfect for what you want.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

RightyWho · 28/02/2017 15:25

SuchHysteria Oh no. I like it so far but now I'm worried.

Either way, it has to be better than the Only Fools and Horses mess I had up before hand.

Hopefully it will look ok. It really is a pretty colour and I have a guest bedroom in a very similar colour so I'm not just saying it 😆

Manijo · 28/02/2017 15:47

That's why in my house it is white or whiter...copp put I know but never have these colour dilemmas

Kiroro · 28/02/2017 15:52

Agree the firt pain was very vivid!

Glad you like the new paint choice OP :-)

DubiousCredentials · 28/02/2017 15:57

Baking I love Overtly Olive. Am currently redecorating the hall and that's what we're having.

RightyWho · 28/02/2017 16:04

I'm struggling to capture the colour because it's gone really dark here.

DubiousCredentials · 28/02/2017 16:07

That's lovely.

RightyWho · 28/02/2017 16:08

The top picture looks quite minty, it's not that minty. It's quite warm.

So much better! Well handled OP Flowers

The new colour looks lovely. I need to redo my kitchen Sad like the colour but got satin for ease of wiping but I hate it, shows all imperfections

ArseyTussle · 28/02/2017 16:16

Lovely! Much more grown up and much less migraine inducing.

RightyWho · 28/02/2017 16:18

Yes, I definitely made the right choice.

Phew, what a day.

I've got a massive headache and I've done basically no work.

He didn't do the cutting in?

RightyWho · 28/02/2017 16:32

Tizzy Yeah he did. Didn't he? What gives you the impression he didn't? Confused

That will dry lovely op. Really nice subtle clean choice for a kitchen. Show us again tomorrow in good light.

Your home is important, that is why is causes stress. Have a nice bath and hot tea

Bluntness100 · 28/02/2017 16:36

I think that's really nice, definitely a good decision.

wobblywonderwoman · 28/02/2017 16:39

Chrome sockets would really look gorgeous with your kitchen

RightyWho · 28/02/2017 16:40

I'm not keen on chrome. My sink and taps are brushed steel rather than chrome because I don't like the shiny.

wobbly I've had a lovely brew and about 18 Cadbury's fingers. When DH gets home from work we're having a take-away Grin

You were supposed to be working at home today?

Ok, obviously the look of your home is important but this does seem to have stressed you out to an excessive degree. You have the money for the kitchen, you have the money for quality paint, you have the money for a decorator. All things paint and wall wise are Fixable. Put it down to experience and try not to get so stressed next time something like this happens. Has it been a v difficult project?

TizzyDongue · 28/02/2017 16:47

The first picture of the green RightyWho. Usual to cut in first.
