Seems we reached 1000 messages so I've started a new one!

Campervan Everthing crossed for you!

joystir59 · 31/03/2017 15:17

ocelot We know the horrid sinking feeling far too well, caused by the bottom link in the chain going awol. I hope in your case your ftbs resurface and you can proceed.

littlemissM92 · 31/03/2017 15:21

Equimum wish I could tell you I asked and she just said it was out of her control I sent her a shitty email yesterday

joystir59 · 31/03/2017 15:30

Campervan thank you Flowers

Londonjam · 31/03/2017 15:31

Completed today! 🔑 took five months from offer accepted

joystir59 · 31/03/2017 15:38

Londonjam How inspiring! Completion isnt just a myth! Congratulations

ocelot41 · 31/03/2017 15:48

Thanks everyone for your kind wishers. Turns out the ftbs aren't out (that's good news) but someone somewhere hadn't been honest about timing. There is work happening at the block of flats, and they want to wait until that is complete before getting a valuation done, because they are scared of getting a down valuation done.

Whilst I understand their concerns, this means they won't be able to even get a mortgage valuation done until about week 6. That's a problem because everyone else had agreed (and moved swiftly towards) an 8 week exchange. Folks need to take up jobs, school places etc by then and they AGREED to this at the beginning. Aaarggh! Honestly, I think this is going to take as long as a flipping pregnancy!

joystir59 · 31/03/2017 15:52

ocelot Lack of honesty is such a problem in this process! I'm so sick of people not being upfront about their situation. So sorry for this situation, but at least they are still in.

CampervanLady · 31/03/2017 17:13

oce that's disgraceful behaviour Angry buyers should be ready, willing & able.

It really annoys me that there are people out there who are so entitled they think they can be dishonest & delay other people's lives & get away with it! There are too many people like this. Ugghhh!!

SadBrew

We were promised we'd hear from our buyer & buyers solicitors today. Haven't heard a peep because obviously we aren't worthy of having updates. Luckily we had our updates via buyers mortgage advisor. But still, they just think their time is more valuable than ours.

I'm glad they aren't my friends.

CampervanLady · 31/03/2017 17:15

And it wasn't just any random / small potatoes update...

It was THE crucial update to confirm the house is still being sold. The most important update of the whole process Hmm

joystir59 · 31/03/2017 17:23

The English system is ridiculous

ocelot41 · 31/03/2017 18:48

With y'all on that one. Glad you got the update you deserved camper, even if it was from the wrong people. I just feel so blue. We have tried so hard and its now 8 months in. Just exhausted. I fail to understand how anyone can get so many weeks into a sale without having done a valuation! I just want the stress to be over. Have put on a stone and a half with comfort eating...

ocelot41 · 31/03/2017 19:17

Aibu though? When is the latest you would expect your buyers to have booked a valuation by?

ocelot41 · 31/03/2017 19:19

Agree with joy. The English system causes silly amounts of stress and suffering. So glad I have moved to Scotland, which is nothing like as bad, so hopefully buying will be easier. But all these delays mean I am missing the spring market.

CampervanLady · 31/03/2017 19:27

oce You are definitely not being unreasonable! A serious buyer needs to be ready, willing and able. If they aren't doing a valuation then they aren't ready or willing despite being "able". Dicks.

Surveyors can look beyond building work & scaffolding. Ours did!

ocelot41 · 31/03/2017 19:42

It does make me worry that they are not very committed, that's for sure.

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 01/04/2017 06:56

Morning all. Nice to see one completion amongst all the continued stress of moving. I can now also add myself to the list of people who have actually managed to move! We completed yesterday. Got keys at 09:30 which was excellent and we were in by 12. I wish everyone on this thread the best of luck and shall lurk until camper and ocelot complete! This morning I'm having a cup of tea in bed just happy it's over.

ocelot41 · 01/04/2017 07:28

I am really happy for you Arsenic. That must be a great feeling Smile

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 01/04/2017 08:34

Thanks ocelet it's a bit surreal. I keep expecting the neighbours to be psychopaths or the ceiling to collapse! It's actually over Grin

ocelot41 · 01/04/2017 10:32

Waves to Joy. Also knackered. We have been doing this since early Sept. SO tired and fed up. Now, because of the situation with our ftbs, we can't even look for somewhere to move to until May - and that's if nothing else goes wrong. By that time, the spring market in Edinburgh (where we have moved to) is tailing off. My DHs contract also rubs out in Aug so it is going to be hell getting a mortgage. Is it too early for Gin?

ocelot41 · 01/04/2017 10:33

runs out - sorry, bloody predictive texting

ocelot41 · 01/04/2017 10:53

Sorry to be so 'oh waily, waily!' But I am just FED UP. What a ridiculous system.

CountMagnus · 01/04/2017 11:18

The Scottish system has its faults as well - horrible "offers over" (seen people burned badly on that) plus gazundering is still possible.

ocelot41 · 01/04/2017 11:38

Please don't tell me that now CountMagnus! I am just miserable trying to sell one house at a reasonable price. I can't stand the thought of more stress at the buying end...

ocelot41 · 01/04/2017 11:52

That said, a friend of a friend of mine here is a property finder - Kirsty n'Phil style. If we ever do manage to get this sale through in cursed Brexit year, am very tempted to call on his services. Anyone used one of these before?
