A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?

Not quite ready for the 'in a chain' support group (please please don't let it be too long!), but we have just put our house up for sale and are waiting for viewings. Mostly cleaning and primping and procrastinating, with occasional adrenaline bursts when the phone rings.

Anyone else in the same position wanting to share the angst?

Judging from what's on right move now and in my like list compared to summer I think your right there's more listed

TheWanderingUterus · 14/12/2016 15:00

I think so, hardly anything new is being added on RM as well.

Also telling myself that every month we wait is another month of mortgage paid off and a little tiny bit more to spend on the new house! Plus our mortgage early repayment fee goes down from 6k to 3k in February.

I havent learnt my lesson though, house has deteriorated back into chaos again, will be another panic if we do manage to get another viewing.

3k is a nice big chunk towards new house.

I keep thinking the same all more time to save but I'm kidding myself I want out! Grin

You've made me feel better about house descending back to usual state of affairs.. I've got fed up of living in a show home and rooting in cupboards to find strategically hidden stuff.

I've also had to unpack my winter clothes too which I had stashed

ocelot41 · 14/12/2016 16:52

Well two surprise viewings today - EA gave us 40 mins notice!

TheWanderingUterus · 14/12/2016 20:18

40 minutes! Actually hyperventilating at the thought!

That's fantastic news ocelot, hope one of those viewers turns out to be a buyer.

My poor DH was down visiting for work (we have already moved elsewhere in the country to take up a job offer). I think he just about managed to get some clothes on, run around the house with a hoover and leg it out of there. And then realised he had left some of his pants drying on the radiatorWink

ocelot41 · 14/12/2016 21:08

Classy man, my DH...

TheWanderingUterus · 14/12/2016 22:46

Laughing about the pants. Your poor DH.

I might do a bit of cleaning tomorrow then Grin.

Poor DS had to go to his nativity tonight in hastily rummaged clothes. They wanted something smart and all his smart stuff is packed away (what little there is of it). Not going in the loft and furkling in boxes to find clothes for two half hour nativities. Lots of muttering amongst the parents about why school uniform wasn't good enough.

It seems DH's pants did not put them off - they are coming back for a second viewing!

TheWanderingUterus · 16/12/2016 11:27

Woohooo! Perhaps we should all start leaving pants on radiators in case thats what convinces viewers to take another look!

ocelot41 · 19/12/2016 14:45

Deck your pants out as bunting folks! We are under offer!!!

TheWanderingUterus · 19/12/2016 14:51

Brilliant news Ocelot!

Going to start emptying pants drawers right now!

Lilmisskittykat · 19/12/2016 16:11

That's it I'm on board! Pants on radiators is the way forward!

ocelot41 · 19/12/2016 16:46

And they are chain-free! (Does little dance of jubilation!)

littlemissM92 · 19/12/2016 22:10

Congrats!

Cathster · 19/12/2016 22:33

Hello, mind if I join? We've been on the market for 3 months now, having about one viewing a week but no luck yet. We had an offer after a few days on the market but they turned out to be massive time wasters (long story!)

Had a no show today - gutting after spending the weekend cleaning and tidying up the Xmas decs! Two viewings tomorrow but not hopeful.

Congrats ocelot - brilliant news Smile

ocelot41 · 19/12/2016 22:45

Oh good luck Cathster. Sounds like you have been having a tough time. Why were the folks who made an offer time wasters? What happened?

Cathster · 20/12/2016 01:39

Thanks ocelot. They hadn't sold their property yet when they offered on ours so we had about 2 months wait, then found out on the grapevine they had sold and offered on somewhere else as well. They came back to us when that property had fallen through for last minute second and third viewings and then never heard from them again! Ignored all calls etc. EA got fed up too!

Luckily there was no money lost but plenty of effort, very frustrating! I don't understand the principle of offering if you're not actually interested in purchasing.

ocelot41 · 20/12/2016 13:14

Oh god, that's grim. Poor you, Cathster. No, I don't understand it either. Apparently there are people who do this kind of crazy shit serially too. Why don't EAs weed them out? They know who they are!

littlemissM92 · 21/12/2016 13:36

2 phone calls for viewings today !! Was thinking nothing would happen now til NY so chuffed one fri one Jan 3rd fingers crossed however the house i had fallen for is under offer and there is NOTHING else I like praying lots comes on in new year that we love

ocelot41 · 21/12/2016 16:34

That's great LittleMiss! How did they go?

littlemissM92 · 21/12/2016 18:39

Thanks they haven't been yet one coming on fri x

Cathster · 21/12/2016 19:23

Good news littlemiss - fingers crossed they go well!

We had two viewings yesterday and when DH rang for feedback they mentioned they were coming back for a third viewing at 4:30 - this was at 4:00 - cue me racing round tidying after the toddler like a loon and legging it out the house - then no one showed! Aargh!

littlemissM92 · 21/12/2016 19:41

Thanks :) that's strange surely they would of
Asked your permission for another viewing? Fingers
Crossed something comes of all of them! X

Bringmewineandcake · 21/12/2016 23:13

Can I join? We're only on the market because a house came up that is a good practical move for us. Received an offer after 3 viewings, negotiated and accepted their increased offer only for them to withdraw it the next day never to be heard from again. No viewings since then, only been on 4 weeks and I'm assuming all is quiet because of Christmas and New Year?
