A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?

TheWanderingUterus · 17/11/2016 13:24

Not quite ready for the 'in a chain' support group (please please don't let it be too long!), but we have just put our house up for sale and are waiting for viewings. Mostly cleaning and primping and procrastinating, with occasional adrenaline bursts when the phone rings.

Anyone else in the same position wanting to share the angst?

So she loved the house but said the road was too busy it's on :( not much we can do about that in good new we have another viewing next thurs and hopefully by then might even have another fingers crossed!

GiraffesAndButterflies · 30/11/2016 16:14

Our offer got accepted! I am buggering off to the in-chain support group Grin

budgets, I completely sympathise, we had two no-show viewers at different ppoint and I was ready to invent new levels of hell especially for them. Bastards.

lalear - I now firmly believe that agents will say ANYTHING to get your house. I have had:
Multiple calls from one I got a valuation from but didn't choose, they only stopped when I told them that they had called me so many times that even if we changed agents I now still would not use them
One agent we viewed property with kept ringing up trying to get all the details of what viewings we had had and promising me that she had buyers on her books who were looking for a house EXACTLY like ours Hmm
Multiple letters through the door, my favourite being one basically saying "I see your house price has lowered on Rightmove, so you haven't sold it then, change agents and come to us instead"
...and more such things. All above board and fine, but the endless promises that they can sell our house with a snap of the fingers frankly starts to sound like empty bullshit when so many people are saying it. Don't let them grind you down.

Good luck to you all and I hope you all get multiple buyers fighting to give you their best possible offers Smile

Lilmisskittykat · 30/11/2016 16:55

Well it's official offer withdrawn ... back to the drawing board.

Sigh ! Just when you think get great offer and all systems go just disappointed and 100 quid solicitors fees poorer

lalaear · 30/11/2016 21:30

Congrats Giraffes! That is great news, you must be very pleased.
Fingers crossed we see you over there soon. Wink
We are having a third viewing on Saturday so would be great if something came from that.
Had our agent ring today and suggest we drop the asking price as they think that will make it sell quickly but OH is reluctant as it has only been two weeks.
I stress ate a bag of Rowntrees randoms this evening which made me feel so sick it has taken my mind of the situation - so a bit of a win really haha!

Lilmisskittykat - I am so sorry. That sucks. Did they say why the offer was withdrawn?

TheWanderingUterus · 04/12/2016 19:29

Welcome Chanandler! Congrats Giraffes!

Anyone got any news? How did your third viewing go lalaear?

Nothing here and loads of the houses on my Rightmove list have been taken off, I presume until the spring. Hardly anything is selling and only two houses were added to RM today. It means a nice relaxed December!

Another viewing today got everything crossed because I have fallen in love with another house !

littlemissM92 · 08/12/2016 11:28

Fuming - no shows and no call to tell the EA RUDE

TheWanderingUterus · 08/12/2016 14:08

Oh no littlemiss! What gigantic arseholes!

We had a desperate phone call from an estate agent who was determined to get our business. He talked at me for 15 minutes and contradicted himself continually, used all sorts of emotional tactics and was generally a cock. Unsurprisingly I wasn't convinced enough to change.

littlemissM92 · 08/12/2016 14:21

God :( I can't stand time wasters and now we have no more viewings booked in so I'm on a downer ! X

TheWanderingUterus · 09/12/2016 12:50

After two weeks we had our first viewing today. I got two hours warning and I needed every second of those two hours! Apparently they are renting round the corner so fingers crossed they liked what they saw.

I really wasn't expecting a viewing (I was in my onesie eating a big bag of Doritos) so I feel knackered now and all excited and weird about people walking round my home when I am not there. The agent also had people in from a tv show today, some sort of life swap thing and they asked to use our particulars (photos not the actual house) in the show. It won't be out till spring but that was a nice surprise too. Not going to get any work done today!

Great news Giraffes and big Brew to LittleMiss. And what TV show Wandering ? I think we need to be told more!

As for us, viewings still ticking on - we are now up to 4 sets of people who love it but are struggling to become proceedable - lots of problems with downward chains seem to be going on. Hopefully, one set gets themselves sorted and comes back soon. Although next week, we do have a cash buyer booked in for a view (trying not to hold breath)

TheWanderingUterus · 09/12/2016 18:22

Getting close ocelot! Hopefully won't be too long before its sold!

I don't know which show it is, but it was a couple with children (?) from London being shown what they could get outside of London. They interviewed my estate agent and she chose our particulars to show and do her talk about, because of the school.

I do hope so Wandering. I am so, so fed up with the whole thing by now. We have already been round the track once already, with a downward chain that fell through. Now, we are onto second time around and we just want to move on with our lives, you know?

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour · 11/12/2016 12:53

Anyone hopeful of any developments before Christmas? No more viewings scheduled for us and things seem very quiet!

ocelot41 · 11/12/2016 14:07

Don't know Chanandler. We have cash buyers coming over on Fri (second viewing). There are also lots of people in chains who are interested in buying our house but are struggling to secure their own downward chain. We are bored, bored BORED by the whole thing now but trying to be patient!

TheWanderingUterus · 11/12/2016 16:08

i know what you mean ocelot, even though we're not quite at that point yet.

This might cheer you up, I found this house which made me smile about how much decluttering I had to do before the estate agent come around. They must love a ramble around a garden centre : www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-45897054.html

We are a tiny bit hopeful Chanandler, after the viewing we had this week. Not expecting another before Xmas though.

Oh crikey! Direct em to MN for friendly critique!

ocelot41 · 11/12/2016 16:16

Am practising meditation. The only things that are stressing me out are my own desire to move ahead with my life and my need for control. All will be well in good time. Ommmmmmm....

TheWanderingUterus · 13/12/2016 14:55

Deep breaths ocelot, deep breaths.

Still waiting to hear back from the viewers from last week. I suspect they are visiting all the houses in catchment first, fingers tightly crossed they choose ours.

littlemissM92 · 13/12/2016 15:41

Nothing here :( EA said not to expect anything until new year now so just going to try forget about it

ocelot41 · 13/12/2016 20:08

Urgh LittleMiss. On the plus side, the holiday period is meant to be the busiest for Rightmove views.

By the way, does anyone have any experience of cash buyers?

budgetsbonus · 13/12/2016 20:49

hi everyone! I know what you mean about wanting to move on with your life ocelot. we had x2 more viewings which have come to nothing for one and waiting to hear from the other but at least they turned up. im not expecting anything til january now too.

Did you hear back thewandering?

Lilmisskittykat · 14/12/2016 10:49

Hanging in for January pick up too.

Put up the tree but not really feeling it this year, just want to move on. I think once you've made the decision it becomes frustrating

TheWanderingUterus · 14/12/2016 11:42

No, haven't heard back yet. Still waiting. DH is still eager to move quickly but I am wondering if we will have a better choice of houses to buy when people start putting them back on in the spring.
