A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?

Not quite ready for the 'in a chain' support group (please please don't let it be too long!), but we have just put our house up for sale and are waiting for viewings. Mostly cleaning and primping and procrastinating, with occasional adrenaline bursts when the phone rings.

Anyone else in the same position wanting to share the angst?

Well done Trevor and fingers crossed Redglitter.

Littlemiss that is so annoying. The house we put our house on the market to buy in the first place sold and I was gutted.

We had two viewings yesterday. One who asked lots of questions to the EA such as what were our neighbours like and did they have big dogs.... then another who was there for about 30 mins. Both good signs but who knows am fed up of second guessing. Who the f**k knows. The EA who did the first viewing hadn't been to our house before commented how nice it is.

littlemissM92 · 08/02/2017 06:50

That sounds promising! How do you make names go bold?
It's so frustrating because I refuse to go anywhere we arnt 110% in love with it's so much money to us! X

Notanotherpawpatrol · 08/02/2017 07:42

Littlemiss, we were like this. Put the house on the market, but wasn't 100% sure we wanted to move. We made a list of all the things we wanted in a house and we were not going to compromise on anything. We had to love it 200% in order to turn the DC's lives upsidedown (one of which has ASD)
Then we viewed a house that barely ticked the boxes, it wasn't what we were expecting and we fell in love! Now that house is the one we want and we really want to sell our house.

littlemissM92 · 08/02/2017 08:18

I know what u mean it's so difficult isn't it especially when there seem to be people all wanting same house where we are which I suppose is normal (the nicest ones perhaps)

HalleLouja · 08/02/2017 09:14

Littlemiss Bold: hello gives hello - without the gaps between the stars will make it bold.

Rearranged living room (cleaner has just been and seems to be allergic to non-right-angles so I've just re-adjusted the sofa).

A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?
Beckyb1 · 08/02/2017 13:35

That looks so cosy drs!!

drspouse · 08/02/2017 13:42

I know, I want to stay now! But the new place has a fireplace (less flowery, too) and we will take the rug and sofa (and pouffe, though we are thinking that one through, it's not really been the most useful piece of furniture).

trevortrevorslattery · 08/02/2017 14:35

drspouse it's lovely!
I am a big fan of a pouffe Grin. Ours holds all of our electronic shit whilst viewings take place. Also it is a favourite item for the horrible dogs to lie on when they haven't been banished for the sake of tidiness.

Off to see our new house and measure up on Friday!

drspouse · 08/02/2017 15:42

Survey back on our new place! Basically everything that we have done to this house, needs doing on the new place (grr). At least we have all the contractors on speed dial...

None of it urgent except wet rot in some window frames. Debating whether to get quotes now, and if we get them, whether to a) get the work done if we end up owning both places at once (likely) and b) hint we'd like to reduce the offer.

Redglitter · 08/02/2017 16:19

I just don't have the patience for this. I wish the EA would put me out my misery

RowNine · 08/02/2017 17:13

drspouse house is looking good!

We had a viewing yesterday, very (very!) young couple who really liked the house but it was the first one they've viewed so think they'll take their time. Told the estate agent it was perfect they'll come back with an offer at some point and that they hope it'll still be on the market. Who says that?! Not holding out hope...

Another viewing Friday am from a man wanting a second home up here. Tomorrow spent cleaning then.

Really good to hear things are moving forward for people.

OBface · 08/02/2017 17:25

That's me ^ Name changed for another thread Smile

Redglitter · 08/02/2017 18:40

Just heard there's another interested party so it's going to a closing date. Aaaaarrggghh

drspouse · 08/02/2017 20:17

Aargh indeed red

Right TIDYING and putting stuff in boxes of cr@p (or the car). Had an awful evening with DS yesterday so got nothing done, DH not back for another 2 hours.

Blackfellpony · 09/02/2017 07:38

Well ours has now been up over a month. 1 viewing and that's it.

We have price dropped and new new photos and nothing.

Really don't understand where I'm going wrong Sad

HalleLouja · 09/02/2017 08:36

drspouse looks lovely.

We have at least one couple coming back this weekend we hope and maybe two couples coming for second viewing. The second couple loved our garden and want to come back in daylight.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 09/02/2017 14:45

Getting the house back into shape after 2 weeks of no viewings and a hospital stay Shock it's messier than I thought!
Fingers crossed it's all worth it, hopefully we will find out on Saturday!

HalleLouja · 09/02/2017 15:12

This whole selling thing is too stressful.

We had an apparently great viewing on Tuesday where the people wanted to see the garden in the daylight and despite the EA chasing them they haven't even bothered to give feedbacl

I f**king selling my house. Sorry need to vent.

drspouse · 09/02/2017 15:15

All photographed, DH says "we should probably keep it tidy" - no shit Sherlock! It has just occurred to him that maybe they'll ring up and say "can someone see it this afternoon" while we are both at work.

Yes dear, I said, that means NO MORE WALKING PAST LEGO ON THE FLOOR.

We kind of need the money by about August but don't need it immediately, so have agreed not to accept lower offers for the time being but rethink in a couple of months.

drspouse · 09/02/2017 15:19

(Now I'm tapping my toes for the listing... I want it NOW)

HalleLouja · 09/02/2017 15:22

Drspouse when you get the link can you share (either by PM or on here). Its very exciting.

We have one second viewing on Sunday and the couple are really keen to see it together as they have seen it separately.

drspouse · 09/02/2017 15:28

Will do (taps toes again). Probably via PM.

Oh DH is ringing one of the many contractors we have on speed dial to go and look at "our" wet rot in the new place.

Redglitter · 09/02/2017 15:39

I got it Grin
I'm so excited

drspouse · 09/02/2017 15:40
