A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?

Not quite ready for the 'in a chain' support group (please please don't let it be too long!), but we have just put our house up for sale and are waiting for viewings. Mostly cleaning and primping and procrastinating, with occasional adrenaline bursts when the phone rings.

Anyone else in the same position wanting to share the angst?

We have a viewing! We actually sold without having viewings before (friend of a friend) but it fell through so this is our first actual viewing.

Are candles on etc too much?

Also do you all have plans for after, we haven't found anywhere so it's a bit worrying if we do accept that we need to find somewhere fast!

littlemissM92 · 18/01/2017 16:48

That's gutting we haven't viewed it but seen somewhere we LOVE online not viewing til we have an offer

HalleLouja · 19/01/2017 10:14

Welcome Becky. Its depressing isn't it? Everyone keeps telling me I have a lovely house and it will sell. But it hasn't yet.

littlemissM92 · 19/01/2017 10:26

Ooh send us a link please :)

OBface · 19/01/2017 14:46

Placemarking as putting our house on the market next week after being valued today. Already fretting!

Only selling to buy a specific house. We know from the agent that someone else is viewing at the end of the month so it's potentially a race to see who can sell first.

Positive vibes to everyone already on the thread.

Beckyb1 · 19/01/2017 16:49

It really is. How long have you all been on the market for? Ours is coming up to 19weeks and wanting to change agents next week. Sad

Lilmisskittykat · 19/01/2017 17:02

I'm just checking back in with everyone.. only been quiet as nothing to report since house got devalued and buyer had to pull out.

Realistically in total been on the market since brexit listing was two days after it .. great timing. Not many viewings but all that have have made offers (just sometime silly ones).

House isn't on for a great deal and already at less then I bought it for so have been furiously scrimping and saving to meet the devaluation price whilst secretly hoping for a better scenario. Depressing...

littlemissM92 · 19/01/2017 17:29

Only about 8 weeks but was hoping it would just fly off as a perfect first time buyer house done to a great standard but it's my happening nevermind x

Lilmisskittykat · 19/01/2017 17:33

I thought exactly the same selling mine for less then I bought without all the problems I bought it with.. thought would be easy selling

HalleLouja · 20/01/2017 15:04

Someone has offered us £30k below asking price..... Let's see if they offer again..... We aren't in a rush to move and have now got 3 viewings this weekend.

littlemissM92 · 20/01/2017 15:13

Eeeeek the lady who came last sat it coming for second viewing this weekend please all cross everything you have and I will do the same please let this be it Wink

HalleLouja · 20/01/2017 15:57

Fingers and toes crossed littlemiss.

Lilmisskittykat · 20/01/2017 18:01

Crossed here too for you !! X

Blackfellpony · 20/01/2017 18:51

Good luck littlemiss!

Our viewing went fine but not heard anything back. They didn't give anything away and didn't speak the whole viewing so not holding my breath Hmm

Really hope things pick up soon. We aren't in a massive rush but I would love to be moved into our new house by summer!

littlemissM92 · 21/01/2017 12:05

Thanks ladies it's tomorrow so chilling today then will make it look lovely tomorrow morn ! If anyone wants to post links to their house I'd love to look :) I spend my life on rightmove!

Cathster · 21/01/2017 12:58

Fingers crossed for you littlemiss!

We had four viewings last weekend and a second viewing in the week. Had an offer of 10% less than asking price from one of the viewings which they gradually upped to 5% less. Would have considered it but they hadn't sold so weren't proceedable anyway - aaarggghh!

Second viewing was a no go as well so we are still in the same position. Only consolation is the house we want is still on the market. So fed up of waiting and constant cleaning now though! Four months on the market and counting 😥

littlemissM92 · 21/01/2017 13:23

Cathster - please tell me you shouted at your EA for that? Did they not tell u they weren't proseedable surely they shouldn't of let them put an offer in? I feel for you that is so infuriating ! X

hooliodancer · 21/01/2017 14:07

We had a buyer pull out on the day of exchange- we were actually meant to be moving on Monday.

House is back on the market, but it is very quirky and although most viewers are very positive I know we need someone to fall in live with it.

We are also selling to buy a specific house. They have not put it back on the market yet, which is great. But if we don't sell soon they will.

I am finding it really difficult, as I love my current house, but we are moving for a total lifestyle change. So mentally, I don't know where I am. If we lose the house we want we will stay here for a few years. I can't pull way from my old life to attach to the idea of the new life as it may all go tits up!

I am also finding keeping the house so tidy all the time stressful. We have put loads of stuff in the car/ sheds/ shoved in cupboards and I can never find anything.

I really need a support group!

hooliodancer · 21/01/2017 14:08

Fall in love with it I meant!

littlemissM92 · 21/01/2017 14:10

Hooliodancer link pleaseee

Cathster · 21/01/2017 19:30

Wow hoolio that sucks! Who pulls out on exchange day?! What a waste! I hope you find your buyer soon so you don't lose your new house.

We are going to be having a word with our EA on Monday. Had a viewing today and had a "witness" say that the EA parked in front of our double driveway, blocking anywhere for the viewers to park. The issue with our house is the immense amount of cars parked on the street which the EA KNOWS so I can't believe they are contributing to the issue! Meant the viewers had to park on the main road and walk down - great first impression.

Will be giving them notice at the end of the month and trying out a new EA, fed up of them!

littlemissM92 · 21/01/2017 20:09

Grrrrrdont blame u and letting them put offer in when they arnt in a position to move they sound a joke!

Cathster · 21/01/2017 20:12

It's the second time they've put in offers for viewers who aren't proceedable - they said they "had to" but when we sold our last property with a different estate agent I don't think we had any viewers who weren't proceedable let alone offers! So we are considering using them again.

We've already had a chat with them about the amount of useless viewings we've had but doesn't seem to have sunk in.

summerholsdreamin · 21/01/2017 20:31

Can I join? For various reasons we put our house on market end of Nov. It's quite a large 'unique' property with separate annexe. Reasonable amount of viewings but no offers as yet which I'm trying not to get too despondent about given the time of year. What does get me down though is the amount of cleaning/show housing that has to take place 24 hours before the viewing!

Realistically feel that we can't start seriously looking at other properties until we have have an offer as don't want to waste people's time. We did have someone come for a 2nd viewing yesterday but they intimated if they did put in an offer it would be well below asking price Confused

littlemissM92 · 21/01/2017 20:54

Definitely swap EA! Oh that's annoying but Nov isn't long that's when ours went on we have our first 2nd viewing tomorrow and like you haven't viewing any yet as don't want to waste people's time or fall in love with one that then goes it's so hard
