Would anyone like an 'in a chain' support group?

Would anyone like an 'in a chain' support thread? We're selling and buying and it's so stressful!! We've found our 'dream house' and had an offer accepted, had an offer on ours within a week which was subsequently retracted. Wondered if anyone else was finding this whole process ridiculously stressful?

Haha that will be our problem too (if we ever bloody move) DS will have to speak to us! Like arsenic says you are so nearly there.

Mommasoph30 · 10/11/2016 10:40

we have a date WHAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO its been agreed thank gosh,

Packing is nearly all done as we have been doing it all week anyway just living out boxes lol.

Exchange is happening today then I can relax! X

AnnaELC · 10/11/2016 13:37

SOPH that's great news !

AnnaELC · 10/11/2016 13:41

Right people I need some help. What shall I do? We accepted offer on our house 20th August.survey was done not long after and everything was trundling along. We signed the docs on our sale and purchase 4 weeks ago then started chasing for dates. Then we were told everyone was ready apart from our purchaser.... No mortgage offer! Up to about 10 mins ago still no mortgage offer. DH bumped into purchaser yesterday and she said she had her copy ages ago. Her solicitor says not. Who to believe and what to do next??

DorothyHarris · 10/11/2016 17:34

I haven't posted a lot because not much was happening. Our buyer did her survey but it turns out the people buying her house haven't even applied for their mortgage yet! WTF they offered 5 weeks ago!! We are ready to do our survey and we are second from top of the chain! It's a joke! Was really trying not to get stressed as I feel stressed enough atm but FFS!

AnnaELC · 10/11/2016 18:43

Welcome Dorothy

I'm feeling your pain. Stay strong! I've had moments (like today) when I was ready to just sod it all and break the chain. But this thread has helped loads. My mortgage offer came really quickly but I'm not borrow a lot, so you never know theirs might too!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/11/2016 18:53

Well. Packed up and ready to go. Absolutely exhausted- take my advice, bin at least half of your stuff before you move.
Few glasses of wine tonight in our box filled living room, movers arrive at 8 tomorrow! See you all on the flipside..,.,

ApplesTheHare · 11/11/2016 12:45

Good luck Soph and Bear!!

Anna what do the estate agents say? If I was your buyer I'd be furious with solicitor and be chasing them...

It's all gone quiet in our chain this week, which makes me feel a bit edgy. We're just waiting for final legal queries to be answered... Not sure why it's taking so long!?

Mommasoph30 · 11/11/2016 13:23

It tages ages Apples, be patient i know its hard but you just gotta wait!

Ok So lawyer rang at 12, to get my authorisation!!! BRAP BRAP!
So. once she has spoken to all the chain we will then exchange later this afternoon and I am moving next Weds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bear - please give me some moving tips once you are in

AnnaELC · 11/11/2016 13:37

Hi apples to be fair she's been on the case all morning and apparently our buyers solicitor has just this minute rang my solicitor to say he has the mortgage offer.
. So it is now all out of my hands completely and we have to wait for the final bits tof be sorted. Next week will be week 13 I think so it's taking ages!

soph that's great news I hope it all goes really well for you.

flownthecoopkiwi · 11/11/2016 14:04

I'm joining on this one as I hope the end is near...

Sold our house in May to first person that looked at it and had offer accepted in a house that was a little rough, but good location. But then, turns out that they didnt have building regs for the loft extension. And then that the owners were in Australia and she wouldn't sign the paperwork to let the sale go through. So he takes her to court, wait till July he said. We, our buyer and her buyer waited. He won in court - oops wrong court because altho they are overseas, the house is here.

We gave up at this stage and found a house we loved somewhere else, had to enter into sealed bids but won. Now cracks have been discovered on the outside due to faulty lintels so asking for repair work to be paid for. But its probate so owner no longer about. Anyway, hoping hoping that we can exchange at the end of this month. And if they won't pay for repairs it's not a deal breaker for us. Wish us luck!

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 11/11/2016 22:15

Looks fab bear. We completed today so ready to start the process of buying next place! Mortgage agreed in principle and instructed our solicitors. I'm in no rush though as signed 6 month rental! Vendor has tenant in so happy to wait for us if we exchange early but delay completion.
Hope everyone has restful weekend Wine

ApplesTheHare · 12/11/2016 00:13

Really glad to hear some folks are making headway. Anyone else had buyers'_buyers pull out? Any words of wisdom?

smallone · 12/11/2016 14:49

Ooh nice to come back to positive news on the thread, congratulations bear and good luck Soph.

Hope the show is going well North

Saw my buyers mortgage advisor today (it's a teeny town) and she said they were just waiting on the valuation report to get the mortgage offer out, and that our buyer is chomping at the bit to get moving Grin

Mommasoph · 12/11/2016 20:28

Hi we exchanged 🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡🏡 moving weds 😍

ocelot41 · 13/11/2016 09:09

Great news Momma!

ocelot41 · 13/11/2016 13:20

Can anyone give me some advice? We were all set to exchange but found out earlier this week that our buyers buyers pulled. Actually, we have now found out that this happened 4 weeks ago, but no one told us. We moved out of the property at the start of Sept to take up a job offer in another part of the country and can't afford to keep paying for two properties much longer. We have stressed this to the EA and our buyers are getting offers for their flat, but not ones they are willing to accept. What do we do? We don't want to freak them out by getting mad and throwing ultimatums around but if they want our house they can't keep us waiting forever. Suggestions please? Due to speak to the EA again on Monday. What do I say?
