Hi, I know there's a sellers' thread, and a buyers' thread, but I am knee deep in trying to do both at the same time and starting to feel like my head might explode and not sure which thread to visit to beg for someone to send Wine Anyone else?!

Yay! Fab news Step, so pleased for you, it was a journey and a half to get to this point. Happy times ahead.

puggymummy1 · 24/06/2016 18:20

Without going into the ins and outs of events this week it seems our move is back on but now there's a chain of 5. Never had a chain before though. It's been a very stressful week and I wasn't too happy with the news this morning! Also, kitten is amazing and new house has a cat flap Grin

puggymummy1 · 24/06/2016 18:39

Congrats Step Wine what a wonderful feeling!

SweetPeaPods · 24/06/2016 19:39

Congrats step!

NervousSeller · 24/06/2016 19:57

Congratulations step.
I'm going with the 'no news is good news' today. Buyer's survey booked for the week after next so fingers crossed that goes ahead and things continue. Hope everyone else's chains continue too.

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 24/06/2016 20:43

Thanks all. It has been a horrible journey but if we can manage to buy a house you will get there in the end. Even with a chain of 5 puggy. Smile

DH is getting annoyed at setting up the sound on our TV so we can watch supernatural. I'm staying out of it.

puggymummy1 · 24/06/2016 21:03

Thanks Step. Watch this space!

Mummyme87 · 24/06/2016 21:15

Ah puggy, I'm pleased with our chain of 5!!

Glad you're in step. Very jealous

puggymummy1 · 24/06/2016 21:19

Sounds like so many mummy!

puggymummy1 · 25/06/2016 10:47

Mortgage appointment booked for next week. Going to try to port existing mortgage. Affordability says we can borrow double the amount we need plus we are downsizing too. Just hope the chain will be strong. I think the only weak link will be my buyer and she is the middle of the chain.

Likeaboss, I know how you feel. I am praying our chain is strong and we can all exchange asap.

Mummyme87 · 26/06/2016 08:59

Also hoping our chain will stay strong. Didn't hear anything on Friday so here's hoping.

Mummyme87 · 27/06/2016 09:26

New week everyone.

So I know our mortgage lender has done our credit check last Monday, not heard anything yet.
I want to be excited and I am but have a little niggle at the back of my mind... I need to get this mortgage sorted so I can really get excited

Mummyme87 · 27/06/2016 12:14

Our mortgage lender has requested the valuation fee this morning (paid up already) 😀 I'm hoping this is a positive thing

puggymummy1 · 27/06/2016 17:46

We have been gazumped. There's nothing to buy! I don't know what to do. Just viewed a possibility with the children and they hate it. Now everyone is sulking. Apparently vendors of house I offered on had someone knock on their door over the weekend offering above the asking price (unheard of around here). The agents were very surprised indeed. So, they've been on the market for over 2 years with at least 4 abortive sales and suddenly someone knocks on their door, up a private drive...

Evy0882 · 27/06/2016 20:02

First time post here so be gentle. We're currently trying to sell up in Surrey and move back to Hampshire in time for our girls to start school and be closer to family. After a painful marketing experience ~ 50 viewings with no useful feedback we finally agreed to sell about seven weeks ago at a healthy discount from our advised price. Onward purchase was lined up and we thought we were on our way, then last week buyer pulls out over some items in the survey (homebuyers) no negotiation no sharing of details they just walked. timing couldn't have been worse with last weeks vote seeming to have killed the market. EA is offering no advice and we now feel totally lost fearing we will not only lose out on our dream house but also may not be able move at all! Anyone else in the same boat, looking for someone to say it will be ok!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 27/06/2016 20:11

Oh puggy. I'm really sorry.

Hi evy. No words of wisdom but hoping all works out

Not much news here. Saw a great house last week. I lived it, DH didn't - for various spurious, ridiculous reasons. Grrrrrrrr

Mummyme87 · 27/06/2016 20:24

Oh puggy, I'm sorry to hear this. Hope something comes up very very soon.

puggymummy1 · 27/06/2016 21:35

Evy, I send virtual Wine

puggymummy1 · 27/06/2016 21:40

Now, where to magic a house from... To be honest if my buyer pulls out, I'd be grateful. Not sure what I'm going to do. The new house has to be right for everyone. I haven't cried yet. I was at work when I got the news and held it together.

oatcakesarenotfood · 27/06/2016 21:56

Yay Mummy, definitely very positive on the mortgage front.

Puggy, I'm so sorry, awful behaviour by your sellers, hate gazumping, so unethical. I hope something comes on the market for you soon, are you tied to a small search location?

We exchanged on Thursday on our sale but we have pulled out of our new build purchase because of work concerns post brexit for hubby. We still have to move but will be looking for a more modest property and smaller mortgage. Our builders were horrible to deal with so don't feel too guilty about pulling out! Everything about moving is horrible, the marketing of your house, conveyancing process and trying to find a new home. Certainly don't want to have to do it again anytime soon.

Good luck to everyone wherever you are in the selling and buying stew!

oatcakesarenotfood · 27/06/2016 21:58

Evy, sorry to hear about your situation, I do hope a new buyer comes your way soon. Hopefully when things settle a little the market will pick up again.
