Hi, I know there's a sellers' thread, and a buyers' thread, but I am knee deep in trying to do both at the same time and starting to feel like my head might explode and not sure which thread to visit to beg for someone to send Wine Anyone else?!

OP posts:
Oogle · 08/06/2016 12:07

So we've gone from no offers to now having a bidding war. Another couple got involved yesterday and offered more than the original, so the original upped their offer to asking price and we're waiting to see if the others want to increase their offer.

I've viewed 3 houses this morning - 2 I hated, 1 I actually do like so it's a possibility. Viewing another 2 Friday and 1 Sunday.

Mummyme87 · 08/06/2016 12:22

Great news on the offer front oogle! Fingers crossed you see something you really like at the weekend

Mummyme87 · 08/06/2016 12:37

So we have submitted all correct papers to broker thank god, and it is having final checks done before submission. Wahoo. Downside is OH signature on his passport doesn't match direct debit mandate and data protection declaration signature 🙄 Mine initially didn't match (my signature 12years ago has somewhat changed as I sign my name a million times a day at work) now his doesn't. Jeesus

Oogle · 08/06/2016 12:54

Still nothing from the couple we're waiting to hear from but the original couple have called twice this morning. I'm giving the others an hour and if nothing, I will be accepting asking price. EEP.

puggymummy1 · 08/06/2016 16:52

Very exciting Oogle and how picky Mummy. Well, our offer has been accepted so hopefully all systems go. I am awaiting the specific name of the type of build of the house for the mortgage company. Am praying Nationwide will lend on it because I really don't want the hassle of a fresh mortgage application!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/06/2016 17:11

Great news all round today! Flowers

No news here. Nothing we like on the market so just sitting it out.

puggymummy1 · 09/06/2016 08:22

Something will come up Gobbolin. Are you actively marketing your property or holding fire until you see the right thing? I am hoping to receive confirmation from the vendor re the specific name of the build of the property so I can check if nationwide will lend on it. I have told my EA about the offer so they are aware that it's just 3 of us in a chain with me in the middle. I have told my solicitor and they just need the details from both EAs. I know how impatient I am and just want things to start moving. Realised we've not had the boiler serviced since we moved here three years ago! Am going to sort that out today.

puggymummy1 · 09/06/2016 10:16

My EA called. Buyer can't get a mortgage without selling her own. I'm so pissed off. Have put house back on market! FFS!

puggymummy1 · 09/06/2016 10:41

I knew this would happen. I want to cry! EA are contacting other interested party.

SayAGreatBigThankyou · 09/06/2016 10:44

Ugh, sitting it out here. Chain completely held up while people at the top piss about. Can really see it all falling through :(

puggymummy1 · 09/06/2016 11:31

My buyer (well if you can call them that) is now on Rightmove. Am really hoping the other person who was interested still wants to buy as her house is on the market in a really popular area. Hope I didn't piss her off by not allowing her to view but I thought I was doing the right thing as we had accepted an offer.

HuckleberryGin · 09/06/2016 13:44

Mortgage approved subject to valuation!

When do Rightmove update their sold prices. For my area still showing March as most recent. Does that mean nothing has actually completed since then or does it take a while to get on Rightmove?

puggymummy1 · 09/06/2016 17:58

Other lady has offered on something else so I have to wait for my buyer to do sell and will lose the house I offered on. Spent all day cleaning just in case. Am so pissed off.

puggymummy1 · 10/06/2016 07:05

I don't want to lose the house we've offered on. Do you think it's possible to say we will start conveyancing, survey, mortgage application? Had no sleep last night.

velocitygir1 · 10/06/2016 07:20

Oh puggy what an emotional roller coaster for you :-(
How very blooming annoying.

Going to be very in MN and give you a hug! There you go! If it's where you will be happy that's where you will end up. It might not be meant to be.

Our buyers have changed their solicitor this week!
We have had their mortgage surveyor here on Monday.

I've received the searches for the property we are buying but our independent mortgage advisor has gone bloody awol! Been waiting 2 weeks for him to get in touch-after him saying it would be max 48 hrs!!! Grrrrrrrr! Got our solicitor hassling us about our mortgage and getting the mortgage surveyor sent to the house we are buying...I'm having sleepless nights over it.

Still can't find a school for ds-it's blooming arghhhhh!

Good luck all

puggymummy1 · 10/06/2016 07:26

Hug gratefully received. Sounds like lots of hassle for you at the minute. Thank goodness I'm not trying to get into schools.

HuckleberryGin · 10/06/2016 07:44

Oh puggy, it's so bloody stressful. I don't really know what to suggest, I'm not very experienced in this.

Our buyers have asked what happened to the sale that previously fell through. EA said we've no obligation to tell them, so we've said just changed their mind/circumstances changed.

Mummyme87 · 10/06/2016 07:50

This house buying and selling business is such a rollercoaster. Will be glad when it's over.

Hoping today mortgage application is submitted and fingers crossed at some point next week a mortgage surveyor will be instructed and contact our sellers solicitor.
Our HomeBuy government scheme seems to be moving well, hope it keeps moving!!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 10/06/2016 09:55

Oh puggy. I think you cold start the process but presumably the vendor will want to agree a completion date and if you haven't sold your house by then, how woukd you finance the purchase? I think you would he'd to be able to give them some comfort re: that. Just rubbish. Is the house that your buyer needs to sell quite marketable? Have some Wine

Hope everyone else getting on OK

We're not in the market yet as there is a real lack of stock around here and there is no way I'm going into rented. All the agents seem to think they could sell the house within a week if needs be. However, I'm not willing to have people viewing if I have no intention of selling so not done anything yet. TBH, I'm kind of wondering if moving is going to happen for a long time. Our house is quite big and we only want to move to something bigger - it doesn't seem like much comes on.

Oogle · 10/06/2016 12:15

Oh puggy, so sorry you're going through this.

We accepted asking price from the FTB so they're thrilled and we're now frantically viewing houses. DH has fallen in love with one but I'm fairly sure it's out of our budget so we're going to go through some figures with my accountant tonight.

whois · 10/06/2016 12:20

Oh puggy that is so rubbish :-( Gah to house buying and selling.

My offer hasn't been accepted on the one I relaly wanted. Have put an offer in on another but that woman hasn't found anywhere ot move to yet. Maks me think that could end up being a massive PITA.

HuckleberryGin · 10/06/2016 12:40

Also, they want to come round to view again on Sunday. Why?

HuckleberryGin · 10/06/2016 14:58

Oh ffs. Buyers (who turns out is a conveyancer) reckons she knows why sale fell through- neighbours, not attached, made a claim for subsistence. This is news to us. She has no idea when or more detail, but has ordered a report.

Argh, why can't we just sell this bloody house!

puggymummy1 · 10/06/2016 18:17

Oh lord huckleberry - everyone's an expert. FTBs can be a pain. Whois, hope someone accepts your offer soon. Good luck Oogle. No updates here. Just in limbo with the buyer who needs to sell and the person we're buying from blisfullly unaware.

puggymummy1 · 11/06/2016 07:54

After deep cleaning on Thursday, I'm going to start decluttering as if we are still downsizing to take my mind off things. I can only hope my buyer gets a lot of interest in her house this weekend or that a surprise cash buyer appears out of nowhere. Good luck everyone with viewings, selling and legal wrangling this weekend. BrewCake and yes, I really have just had a Krispy Kreme for my breakfast!
