Just a light hearted thread. Property interests me.

Buying a 3/4 bed house in Bristol. It's lovely. Clean. Very clean. Lovely garden and space for 2 cars on the drive. We got it for a steal of 150,000 although needs some updating.

Just wondering what everyone else paid in different parts of the country! What area and what condition?

I think we need to relocate!!! Moving in west sussex, 4 bed townhouse , we have offered £320k. Our buyer is paying £240k for our small 3 bed semi. Prices seem to be going up more and more.

Paid £280k 14 years ago for 4 bed detached in zone 5 SE London, we got it cheap as two bedrooms are very small and our door number is considered unlucky by some so according to the EA they wouldn't view when try found out the number!

Spent £50k 7 years ago on an extension giving us a larger kitchen and downstairs bedroom/study.
Now valued at £650k.

Ex council mid terrace South East. Less than an hour from London.

Paid £180k 8 years ago, now worth roughly £230k

4 bed detached £280k 3 years ago in a nice area of the East midlands. Perhaps worth £330k now, although we have only done minor improvements maybe spent £6k.

30s cottage -3 bed but one is a box room - Surrey commuter belt paid £365k 3 yrs ago. Driveway and large level garden which is unusual in this town. Neighbours just sold for £485k!

Old welsh cottage in a very rural area, no neighbours at all, 3 bedroom, mountain, views over sea, 1 acre garden bought for £45,000 20 years ago

4 double bedrooms (6 if you count the attics) for £90k, Victorian bay fronted terrace type, Bronte Country, 2012.

Oh and the condition: absolutely fucked. Grin But it's grand now.

Bought 3bed Edwardian Semi in SE 13years ago for £370,000 had it valued in spring for £750,000

Turquoisetamborine · 15/08/2015 02:24

Very run down three bed semi on a corner plot. 120sq ft with large garden. Quiet cul de sac but in town centre. North East . 33k and then another 50k to make it habitable. Bought three years ago. Worth about 110k now but no one really knows as no one in the street has moved for 12 years.

4-bed mid-terrace in not-quite-trendy-yet-but-give-it-time bit of East London, £450k last year.

ValancyJane · 16/08/2015 14:49

3 bedroom 1930's semi-detached house in a very nice part of West Yorkshire for £166,000 last year. It needed decorating and modernising (huge understatement!), but has good sized rooms, a decent sized garden, plus potential to convert the garage into more downstairs space.

Isthatwhatdemonsdo · 16/08/2015 18:38

3 bed detached in Hampshire. Bought it for £247,000 in November last year, immaculate condition. About to put it on the market for £295,000.

LBOCS · 16/08/2015 19:14

We paid £195,000 for a three bed terrace with 60ft garden in z5 in 2012. Spent £30k on it (needed complete overhaul), we've just had it valued at £320k.
