How much did you pay for your 3/4 bed house and what area isn't in?

Just a light hearted thread. Property interests me.

Buying a 3/4 bed house in Bristol. It's lovely. Clean. Very clean. Lovely garden and space for 2 cars on the drive. We got it for a steal of 150,000 although needs some updating.

Just wondering what everyone else paid in different parts of the country! What area and what condition?

3 bed detached last December - 700k in Kingston (SW London). It's an absolute wreck requiring complete modernisation.

218k for 3 bed in South East London (zone 3) ten years ago.

It's now worth about 500k.

We can't afford a 4 bed so will do a loft extension one day hopefully.

Dundry is lovely tvlover, we are stuck to areas because of schools so have cottage by Cribs, until the children finish then going to Norway.

Bouncearound · 11/08/2015 07:03

Rural South Yorkshire, near Sheffield - 4 bed detached with garage and small garden £285k 12 years ago. House prices haven't moved much since then and the house opposite has just been sold for £310k.

In 2007, paid £260k for 3bed 1930's semi, huge garden drive for 4 cars, garage on busy A road in nice village in central Kent. Needed masses of work updating and garden was just weeds. Sold 2011 due to divorce for £225k.
2013 bought 2 bed Victorian mid terrace 15 mins from old house in centre Of very nice little village for £123k, total overhaul everything from bare bricks up done. Now valued at £180-200k.

Paddingtonthebear · 11/08/2015 07:18

A nice 3 bed semi or terraced in my immediate area is £300-£350k. South Coast.

ohidoliketobe · 11/08/2015 07:19

Lancashire. 3 bed semi, drive, garage and garden. 160k 6 years ago, needed a bit of work. We re-mortgaged start of this year and was valued at 185 which we're pleased with (not planning to move but meant LTV was improved for better rate!)

Springcleanish · 11/08/2015 07:19

I'm intrigued, where in Bristol did you get 3/4 bedrooms for £150,000?
We bought a 3 bed terrace in BS4 eighteen years ago for about £45,000, sold 12 years ago for £110,000, same house just sold for £260,000.

Bristol is so area dependant though, so hard to generalise, houses on one side of the road can be up to £100,000 different to the other, if it comes under a different area.

PookBob · 11/08/2015 07:20

3 bed terrace in NW, bought for 111k in 2006. Now worth 85k ????

Stuck here forever.
