Where would you spend a million in London?

I have NCed for this. Would love some ideas/MN wisdom. if you have a budget of a million or thereabouts and wanted to buy a family house in London for a young family of 2 young girls where would you look? Can budget for independent school. Have been looking West but wanted some new ideas thrown out. Happy to go pretty urban... Too suburban would probably put us off.

But more I would love to here where YOU would go (or already are) and why. Need reasonable access to town for daily commute (West End/City). We have lived all over (but not with children, and now moving back from abroad)

Interesting/weird! and 5 beds, shame its on the A4!

Eyot Green on Chiswick Mall!!!

4 beds, under budget, I'd pay £1m to live there. Unfortunately it's under offer and anyway it probably floods, most of the houses there do. Wink

Grove Park, Chiswick.

Lovely 4 bed, right on the river, bit of a track to the tube, but worth it. Over budget but the market is slowing, they may take an offer. You have to promise to invite me round for coffee. Grin

Don't know the area that well so it seems suspiciously cheap to me..

I wouldn't say they were too cheap - in fact you'd have paid £200k less for them not that long ago. They are a bit cheaper than other St Margarets properties because they are separated from the 'village' by an A road and also school places have historically been a bit problematic, although they've expanded the local primary lately and this doesn't affect OP anyway

I really like St Mgs, but I probably wouldn't choose the bit on that side of the A316 as (like parts of Kew, Chiswick and Barnes) it's right under the flight path.
