Our house has been on the market for two weeks.
www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-40278814.html?premiumA=true

We have had two viewings so far, no offers.
First viewer-didn't ask much about house, Second viewer- property developer-said house would need kitchen and bathroom ripping out and didn't want to insult me with his offer!
OH is finishing off painting the front of the house as we speak.
We live near a university and houses are usually bought to let out to students.
The EA told us to put this price on it to help it sell faster.
What are your opinions of our house/price?
What else can we do to encourage more viewers???

We want to move to Cornwall- OH starts his new job on the 2nd September- he'll be staying in our tiny caravan until the house sells and we can move down there.

just had a quick look.

Agree that the photos are not great. No floor plan either?

De clutter - no one needs to see boxes stacked up. It looks like you have no storage.

Looks okay for the price - I think, but don't know Preston. Am in W Yorks though - prob similar prices.

your photos are so much better than the EA ones. Is there anything you can do with the boxed in pipes in the bathroom as it looks like it takes up a lot of floor space - can you bury the pipes under the floor boards or move them all closer to the wall?

garlicbargain · 29/08/2013 11:46

Lambrini, that might be a bit drastic for someone looking to make a quick sale Grin I thought it made an interesting space, just needs something on it - a towel rail as someone suggested, or an ottoman, laundry box, chair, plants ... or some combo of the above.

I like your profile pics, OP, they're loads better!

TKKW · 29/08/2013 14:16

Hi, the colour in your 3 pics is much better than the EA's. much brighter.

allotmentgirl82 · 15/09/2013 20:06

Hi all
I've had a re-jig and used some of your ideas to make my house look better. I'e put the pictures in my gallery. I hope you like them. Some have come out slightly blurred- no idea why as the same camera was used for all of them, could be camera shake- i'm very tires today.
We've dropped the price to £89,950 to in line with other houses in the area. Hopefully it will sell quicker now :)
Thanks again

Much better when is the estate agent coming back to redo photos?

QuintessentialShadows · 15/09/2013 20:16

The new pics are much better.

I am just wondering, can you put a bunk bed in your kids room instead of the two toddler beds? The room looks really small and awkward the way the beds are positioned.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 15/09/2013 20:18

Looks much better, fingers crossed for you.

Where a bouts are you moving to in Cornwall?

allotmentgirl82 · 15/09/2013 20:35

I've asked the estate agent to use my photos instead, they said they will.
Quintessentialshadows- the boys used to have a bunk bed, but it broke because they jumped too much on it!
The bed are single beds, although they do look tiny on the photos. I might try and borrow a bunk bed, or swap the singles for one- if it helps make the room bigger i'm all for it.

oh, i forgot to answer the last question!
We are hoping to move to Liskeard. My husband is currently working in Plymouth so we need to be within a 30 minute commute of his workplace.
We both drive so transport isn't a problem. We need to live somewhere with a good primary and secondary school and Liskeard seems to have both
