How to find a reliable builder in West London?!

Can anyone recommend a reliable builder in the West London area? We're about to move to Ealing and will want some work done more or less straight away on the house we're buying - recommendations gratefully received. (We've used Rated People to find builders in the past but have had mixed results: I don't know who all the builders are who are desperate for work, because they don't seem to be looking for it on there.)

I have actually had reasonably good results from myBuilder and so has my neighbour. I like how people who are available for work will reply. I have had two good plumbers , and reasonably good odd jobs people (but they couldn't do plastering I found out). Tomek Cwiklinski is really good at doing big jobs, installing boilers etc. Matt Smith does plumbing on the side of his fireman job so good for smaller jobs. If you need numbers please message me. I am looking for a decent builder who has experience in loft conversions (specifically means of escape) for West London. The person must be excellent in their paperwork and be able to deal with an unusual building control inspector. Not sure if any of the above recommendations would suit?

venys, the guys my sister will use have experience in extensions and lofts and they offered project management and building control service in the booklet I have seen. Not sure about means of escape but it may worth a try. I can send you the contact as well.

I was genuinely nervous about having the only bathroom in the house renovated as well as replacing the old combi-boiler as I planned to live in my flat throughout the works.
