Wasnt really sure where to put this but see here

My friend signed up about a week ago and got his first lot of stamps yesterday!

I've just entered my details tonight and apparently they're sending me a welcome pack out....

I joined before this thread was started, received welcome email on 18/8 and have heard nothing since.

Not received welcome pack so no stamps and no items to post

chelsygirl · 06/09/2008 15:15

I've rushed in and registered ( I can't see blue cheese go past me)

whats it all about, what do we have to do?

fruitful · 06/09/2008 15:15

I joined last week and just got the welcome pack and 18 stamps. 2 letters for me to post - so if I never get anything else that's an easy 18 stamps!

But it does ask me to post one letter "at a postbox in my area" between 1pm and the last collection on a specific day. And the other letter at a post office after 1pm on a specific day. So it may not always be that easy to do.

I wonder if the Sorting Office counts as a Post Office, because that's really easy for me to get to.

MrsWeasley · 06/09/2008 18:53

of the sorting office is within your postcode area and it has a code on its box it should be ok, I think.

WendyWeber · 06/09/2008 18:55

Our sorting office only delivers parcels - oh, and lets you pick up - I don't think it would count as a main PO, they mean one with counters that sells currency & road tax & stuff, don't they.

WendyWeber · 06/09/2008 18:56

StG, I joined on Sunday & just got my welcome pack today. If you've had the email it must be coming?

DabblesInGettingOld · 06/09/2008 19:11

what did u put as reference code?

WendyWeber · 06/09/2008 19:13

I put saga (because I am really old, & I read the mag )

SoupDragon · 06/09/2008 19:14

I got my pack this morning. I have no idea which ref code I picked

I have to go out and identify my post boxes now!

SaintGeorge · 06/09/2008 19:15

I've emailed them WW, will have to wait and see.

How ironic if my Welcome Pack is lost in the mail!

Ready4anotherCoffee · 06/09/2008 19:16

cool, i have signed up. thanks

TequilaMockinBird · 06/09/2008 19:19

Got my welcome pack the other day too, if nothing else it will save me 18 stamps for Christmas cards

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 06/09/2008 19:21

I don't think it has to be a ^main" PO, just a box outside a PO. It also lists "sorting office" as an option.

notnowbernard · 06/09/2008 19:25

Well, I registered and got my intro pack today

HAve fallen at the 1st hurdle though, as I have to post 2 items on specific days at specific times and I am working both days

Will phone them on Monday and bow out

18 stamps will come in handy though

shinyshoes · 06/09/2008 19:28

I don't friggin get it. I get the whole posting after 1.pm business, but what on earth do I do online.

and what do I send??

I just don't understand.

I need an idiots guide.

notnowbernard · 06/09/2008 19:30

Shiny, did you not get a couple of SAEs in your pack?

SoupDragon · 06/09/2008 19:32

I got 2 plain envelopes with stamps on, 1 address label to stick on and one address to write on. There are also 2 pieces of paper in the evelopes I have to stick a reference label onto.

Online, you have to put in the code for the post box you used i think and them you register which box you used and when for each item you have tosend. Or something.

shinyshoes · 06/09/2008 19:39

Yes I did Notnowbernard. Is it just a case then of posting them on the date it specifies then like Soupdragon says just putting the code in of the post box I used and thats it???

Or is there more? the wording of the instructions enclosed sounds like gobbldygook to me

SoupDragon · 06/09/2008 19:48

I think you have to go and identify the post boxes you're going to use and put the code into the website - obviously this can be done at the same time you posted the letter. Then you use these boxes and do something online to show which box you posted the letter in I think.

There's a schedule telling you when and where to post a particular letter (eg at a post office on X date after 1pm but before last collection or at a post box....)

shinyshoes · 06/09/2008 19:52

Ok thnaks for your help, I think I can manage that

wheresthehamster · 06/09/2008 20:08

Got my pack this morning.

It looked complicated to start with but had it sussed after an hour

I haven't been on-line yet but presume they need to be able to identify where you post from, confirmation of postings etc.

I had to read the PO bit a few times but I think it just means a postbox outside a PO.

WendyWeber · 06/09/2008 20:09

nnb, can't you get someone else to actually put them in the postbox for you if you do all the other stuff?

(Would have to be someone v trustworthy of course )

notnowbernard · 06/09/2008 20:50

WW - It's a bit of a faff for me tbh. I stupidly naively thought I would just get an envelope that needed posting every so often

Not require codes and log-ins and specific PO identification

TBH I don't know how I'd go about explaining the point of it all to anyone else, let alone get them to post an item at a specific time!

I will phone the helpline to explain though

SoupDragon · 06/09/2008 21:11

It's not really at a specific time though - mine are just after 1pm but before last post. Cant' you just go out at lunchtime?

whitebeachesandcoconutoil · 06/09/2008 21:21
