The best Black Friday deals

AliceDMumsnet · 09/11/2018 15:13

Black Friday is the shopping event of the year, with huge sales from loads of brands giving savvy shoppers the chance to get their hands on some serious bargains in the run up to Christmas. This year, Black Friday falls on 23 November 2018 and after the success of last year’s live Black Friday thread, the Mumsnet shopping team will once again be here from dawn ‘til dusk on the day helping you find the very best online deals.

Feel free to post any great deals you come across in this thread. If you’re strapped for time, let us know what you’re looking for and we will try our best to source a deal for you.

This year, we’ve partnered with AO.com to bring Mumsnetters great Black Friday deals on tech, electricals and appliances both big and small. AO is an online electrical store who offer free delivery and returns - as well as next day delivery seven days a week. They also offer a fuss free recycling service for your old appliances. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite deals from AO, but if you find the same product for less elsewhere, just let AO know and they will match the price - even if you’ve already bought it. If the price of your Black Friday purchase drops any further AO will refund you the difference.

Quick reminder of how this works: we've selected these deals by scouring the web for bargains that we think MNers will love. We can’t guarantee that every single product has been at its 'pre-Black Friday price' for more than 30 days, but we only pull out offers that seem to us like genuinely good deals on products we know MNers rate.

We do get a small referral % if you happen to buy through these links and, if you post a fantastic offer but don't include a link, MNHQ may edit your post so that other users can easily find it.

Couple of Black Friday avoids....

  1. Levi's- ordered jeans with 30% discount. 2 hrs later received email to say they had cancelled my order (no reason given but implication was no stock), but they won't remove pending charge from my account for 8-14 days!!! What a scam. Have emailed customer services.
  2. Hollister. Online. Their servers can't cope with demand. Hopeless for such a large company in this day and age of on demand cloud computing grrrrr!
CountFosco · 23/11/2018 18:05

30% off Rogue Matilda with Rogueblackfriday if anyone fancies some gorgeous shoes for themselves.

Musicalstatues · 23/11/2018 19:53

Aargh I’ve had the Neat thermostat sat in my amazon basket all day at £149.99. Put kids to bed, go to buy it and in the space of that hour it’s jumped back up to £219.99. Kicking myself 😡

Musicalstatues · 23/11/2018 19:53

*NEST thermostat that should be

GiantKitten · 23/11/2018 19:57

Dies it have to be Nest?

Hive is still reduced. I’ve got Hive & am v happy with it, but we have a basic combi boiler system & schedule so nothing to learn.

FrankieGMumsnet · 23/11/2018 19:57

@Musicalstatues not sure if it is the same model you were looking at but Screw Fix have a Nest thermostat for £149

Musicalstatues · 23/11/2018 19:58

I was thinking I might grab the Hive while it was still reduced actually, and then should Nest come down again return the Hive! I’m not entirely sure how different they are, just felt drawn to the Nest for some reason!

Musicalstatues · 23/11/2018 20:00

Oh it is the same one! Thank you so much @FrankieGMumsnet It looks like it might come with a free stand as well!

GiantKitten · 23/11/2018 20:02

Actually thanks for the nudge, I’d been thinking of getting a stand for the thermostat, they’re reduced too & I’d forgotten 😊
