Farnborough Hill or Tormead

We’re trying to decide between Tormead Senior and Farnborough Hill for my daughter. She is at Tormead Prep at the moment due to the Rydes Hill merger. I know the downsides of Tormead with the cramped campus, clinical feel etc and we are drawn in by the beautiful environment of Farnborough Hill but the academics aren’t as strong. My daughter is motivated and my gut says she’ll thrive and do well, and perhaps be happier in a less assessment heavy, nurturing environment, but I’m keen to hear views from families at both.

Yes, apparently they have added an extra class for y7, and increased the class sizes across the site including in the primary. I should state that this is based on discussions from parents who have girls there, but it has not been officially validated.

I think unfortunately GHS part of a consortium where the other schools are struggling financially, so they use it as a bit of a cash cow to help the others.

thank you and for clarifying not a parent.
Wow - so they must have circa 150 there this year.

This was never mentioned at the open days and I remember someone even asking the question on numbers per year. They have a great reputation but I don’t think they have the infrastructure to support the number. The classrooms are very Victorian…
Also the numbers in the class won’t be much less than state!
