SE London Schools - Alleyn’s, St Dunstan’s, Colfe’s - 2026 entry

Hi everyone,

I’m not sure if there’s already a thread for 2026 entry to the SE London schools, so I thought I’d check in. How is everyone getting on?
Our DD has just completed her first sports scholarship assessment for Alleyn’s and absolutely loved the experience. She came out beaming, which was lovely to see.
Would be great to hear how others are finding the process, and how your DCs are getting on with assessments and preparation for Alleyn’s, St Dunstan’s, Colfe’s, or any of the nearby schools.

Oh God my anxiety is back now - I’ve just done a mad dash to the front door to check if we have a letter- nothing yet. Fingers crossed for your DD!

@hereandthere14 It feels like a leaflet so I don't think it's any kind of offer letter. Equally I'm as certain as I can be it's not a rejection. If it is just some kind of advert they probably should rethink sending things in the post like that this week!! I'll update when she's home.

@hereandthere14 it was a leaflet!! Inviting us to their theatre production. Not sure timing was well-thought through....

Felt sorry for the Alleyn's admissions team who must be fielding loads of (panicked) calls and emails that prompted the - DON'T CALL OR EMAIL IT'S TOMORROW - email. Totally get it though, this wait is excruciating!

Crinoidallimestone · 12/02/2026 16:18

Ha! I heard Jags results are out today - might be the cause of it. Why they don’t just all release them on the same day I don’t know! Good luck tomorrow everyone! 🤞🏻

hereandthere14 · 13/02/2026 06:29

Good luck to everyone today.

Deep breaths and no matter what our children are amazing. Nothing about today changes that.

it’s probably alphabetical and you think we’re at the end.

Onemorebubble · 13/02/2026 09:25

@Crinoidallimestonethe Dulwich portal normally updates before the email is sent out. Worth a check!

congrats on all the offers! Enjoy celebrating!

Elembeeee · 13/02/2026 09:27

Sorry fat fingers while walking
*I think you were at the end

Crinoidallimestone · 13/02/2026 09:42

We have a St Dunstan’s offer! Very pleased. Still waiting on DC….

Lovingeveryrainbow · 13/02/2026 09:42

St Dunstans portal has updated

Crinoidallimestone · 13/02/2026 11:32

We are on the waiting list for DC argh! Any views as to whether it’s likely we’ll get a place? If so when do lists start to move?? It says to let the admissions team know if you want to be kept on the waiting list, so have emailed them, but wondering if I should have called. Maybe I should call them too but don’t want to come across as some kind of neurotic nutter!! 😂

Lovingeveryrainbow · 13/02/2026 11:33

We got into SD but are on waiting list for a bursary - the anxiety continues!

selondon28 · 13/02/2026 11:43

@Crinoidallimestone they're used to neurotic nutters at admissions time 🙂 lists will start to move after the acceptance deadline, as that gives them loads more clarity on how many places they have definitely filled.

Crinoidallimestone · 13/02/2026 12:04

Thanks @selondon28. In that case not sure what you do regarding other offers which have the same deadline - accept a place somewhere else and take the hit on the deposit if you get a waiting list place?!

Congratulations on the place. Sorry you’re still dealing with uncertainty too.

selondon28 · 13/02/2026 12:09

I would speak to admissions next because they’ll be able to advise you on when the waiting list moves and potentially where on it you are. But I followed a thread when my daughter was in year six a couple of years ago and I remember parents having to take a hit in that way and then some getting places even quite late in the summer. We have potentially the same issue as our son actually wants to go to a state school locally that he really likes, but if he’s only on the waiting list for that we would probably want to have the SD place he just got as a backup (his sister is there already). It’s an expensive business before they even start there!

Elembeeee · 13/02/2026 12:09

@Crinoidallimestone reading through past threads I think it’s super common to wait until the deadline. I believe the deadline is aligned with National Offer Day too so there will be movement then for folks that get into the selective state schools of their choice.

well done on the offer and waitlist. Keeping everything crossed for you.
