Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

travelling crib?? How funny.

Acinonyx, I am curious to know how the aliens fit into the nativity. Is this a sci-fi allegory thing?

moodlum · 24/11/2009 22:22

Tree - travelling crib - Hilarious and sweet all at the same time.

Tea - I know what you mean - the fact that they can endear their own little friends and have invitations of their own accord is heart warming.

Aranea - what a breakthrough! Am so pleased for you.

Last year DS' nursery had a nativity with aliens in it - it involved two children going off in a cereal packet rocket to find the Christmas Star, they found aliens, then they found an inn in Bethlehem you know the rest..

Well ladies I have had the most exciting afternoon. I was on radio two on Simon Mayo's drivetime slot . He is doing a phone in all this week where you have to go on and say what you are thankful for, so I got on and said thank you to all my lovely Firewalk sponsors . And whilst I was waiting on the phone for them to put me on I necked a whole glass (Classy girl me) of red wine, so I was a bit giggly. But I got my point across .

Acinonyx · 24/11/2009 22:32

Moodlum I heard you! I was in the car - and I remember thinking of you and that you must have done something very similar!! And it was you all along! You are truly famous

Dh is American and taking Thursday off to do a big Thanksgiving dinner.

I haven't got the alien-nativity plot yet.

Acinonyx · 24/11/2009 22:32

I can tell you that moodlum has a very soft, attractive voice

moodlum · 24/11/2009 22:35

&

Aww thanks Aci - happy thanksgiving to your DH.

moodlum · 24/11/2009 22:36

That'll be the 'giggling after speed drinking wine' voice I put on for national radio

treedelivery · 24/11/2009 22:53

Is moodlum the m&s voice woman? 'This was no ordinary firewalk.....'

Aranea · 25/11/2009 12:57

Owh, I have tried to find it on 'listen again', but it doesn't seem to be available. Bother. I wanted to hear what you sound like!

moodlum · 25/11/2009 13:02

shh - go to listen again Chris Evans of yesterday 24/11 and I think it must be about 40 minutes in?

Aranea · 25/11/2009 13:22

Gotcha! You sound lovely. And made me laugh out loud when you said, 'They say it's all in the mind but it isn't, it's all in the feet.'

Evening. Exhausted.

Major major tears here this morning. DD didn't like the change in routine, she gp's took her to school. She sobbed her heart out about wanting to be with mummy and missing me. It is rally hard that she gets to see little sister stay exactly where she wants to be. Although she has never said or shown anything negative about that. Just said she misses her too.

I was in Manchester on egg doantion business, so late back too. Oooooo guilt.

AM having eggs removed on Friday, I wonder if I should just bring her along and even if she is bored - at least she is outward bound.

Hope all is well.

Aranea · 25/11/2009 20:01

Oh tree, poor you and dd. Will you have anyone with you on Friday? What sort of procedure is it?

treedelivery · 25/11/2009 20:08

I think really my mum will have to come, although I am happy to potter home on my own. The clinic want people to go home with someone and I guess if I hit a busy train it couold be pretty awfull. I can expect tummy pain for 48 hours following [kicked by horse type thing] I will be sedated or under general, and a thin tube is inserted through the cervix, through the uterus and into the ovary. Then each follicle is basically power washed and swiled out. Hopefully with an egg from each

It's done under scan and takes about 30-45 mins.

moodlum · 25/11/2009 20:11

Oo tree you are very nice for doing that. That doesn't really seem an adequate thing to say, but you know what I mean, I hope.

Poor dd. Small changes in routine are big news if you are 4 or 5 I suppose. If you did take her on Friday, would it be ok for her to see you, if you were in any pain? I agree that out and about is good though...

Sorry, not helpful. But sorry she's had major tears..

Aranea · 25/11/2009 20:37

Oof tree, you are amazing. Very brave. I wouldn't take my dd1 if I was going to do something like that, I must say. I think I'd delegate someone to take her out for something distracting and indulgent. I know if it was us, I'd not want to be worrying about her while feeling ropey, and she would certainly worry about me as she gets very upset and concerned when I'm unwell or hurt.

Acinonyx · 25/11/2009 22:09

Hi tree - my dd is from my second of three fresh IVF cycles (own tired old eggs). I wouldn't take dd with you - she can't stay with you during the procedure and shouldn't - and can't imagine they are set up to look after children. And definitely you will need someone with you to go home or they might not release you - especially if it's under GA (I always had egg retrieval done under GA).

Good luck with that and here's hoping for a good egg count - but it's quality not quantity

golgi · 25/11/2009 22:16

Tree - What Everyone Else Said about the egg thing - what an amazing thing to do.

Boy got a cut lip today, was hit in the playground. Think it was "Rough Play" rather than anything more sinister, some boys in reception like playing with the bigger boys in the playground and Son happened to be in wrong place at wrong time. He prefers to play with the girls and I can see why!

Ixia · 26/11/2009 09:42

Wow Tree, what a fab thing to do for others.

paisleyleaf · 26/11/2009 12:52

Tree, that's great you're doing that. I did see a bit of your tree-range-eggs thread earlier on. I hope it all goes okay.

Aranea, how's it going for DD?

All okay here. I've been at the school quite a bit myself. Helped out the other day (and saw nativity rehearsal - awww so cute - can't wait to see it all in costumes etc).
Helped decorate the hall for xmas, and getting it ready for christmas fayre tomorrow, including a grotto for santa. Seems a bit early to me - I don't feel ready to see Father Christmas.

treedelivery · 26/11/2009 22:27

See you Sat probably!!

Wish us luck and a good round dozen size ones

moodlum · 26/11/2009 22:47

Good luck tree - may the egg collection be tree range and healthy!

Aranea · 26/11/2009 23:10

good luck tree!

paisley, thanks for asking after dd - she seems much happier following the teacher's chats. Certainly less talk about her invisible friends. I think it's OK. She isn't happy being left in the mornings, and she doesn't seem quite so wholeheartedly committed to her school friendships as she did in september, but the issue with X does actually seem to have been resolved. They played together again today. I am astonished, actually!

treedelivery · 27/11/2009 22:51

9!!

Tired, in about an hour ago so bed with hot water bottle.

9 eggs! Yay!

Ixia · 27/11/2009 23:25

9! That's brilliant Tree
