DD in year 2 so SATS year. Her teacher is now into her 3rd week off, she supposedly has a cold. Methinks either she is suffering with something far more serious and possibly private ie depression/stress or she is a fucking lazy bitch. I am not one of the mums wailing about in the playground as DD is fine, but its just a bit . How much will the supply teacher be getting about £200 per day- bet he's loving it!

agree with slayerette, come on suwoo has already seen the error of her OP

I had time off work, when teaching, in the past for some suprious reasn such as a cold - I had actually had a miscarry.

I had 2 weeks off with a "blister" - actually what had happened was the infection from a blister had gone up my leg tomy groin and I was at home with my leg strapped up and raised, and regular trips for injected abs.

No longer teaching now, but still in education where I miss seeing clients if not there - last academic year I had 17 weeks off sick. My sick not just sais "post op" after two pretty minor ops. I didn't tell my clients any reason at all, and only told work "post op". I had had two gynae ops with heavy duty hormone stuff afterwards - and didn't want t have to disclose all details.

YABU but I think you have already realised that.

I suspect the excuse possibly started off as "she has a cold" esp if they thought she may only be off for a short period of time (I had expected to be off work no longer than a week after my first op for example) and then time has gone on and no one has corrected the reason with another one (even if not the truth).
