My daughter is doing well in school especially literacy. Not so sure about math. What year would you say this math homework is targeted for?

Year 3/4. My DC have had very similar homework in both years

Bowtieger · 09/02/2025 21:20

Year 3.

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 09/02/2025 21:20

Year 2 or 3?

Postitnoteit · 09/02/2025 21:20

The maths isn't hard but the literacy required, plus the jumble of content, would be a bit unusual in year 3 I think

Caps44 · 09/02/2025 21:20

Year 2/3?

MrsPerfect12 · 09/02/2025 21:21

age approx depending on ability.

Peclet · 09/02/2025 21:21

gavinandstaceychristmasspecial · 09/02/2025 21:21

Year 2 or 3

DailyEnergyCrisis · 09/02/2025 21:22

looking again I’d say the first two sections are yr2 and the maths reasoning problems are yr 3 or 4.

Hercisback1 · 09/02/2025 21:22

Year 3 ish.

Maths isn't too hard, wording is.

modgepodge · 09/02/2025 21:22

I don’t think much of the content is above y3 (maybe some of the fractions stuff) with lots significantly below (y1/2 level). It’s a dreadful sheet actually, total mismash of topics and a real mix of very easy and quite challenging. Not sure what the purpose is, other than to tick a box that says ‘homework set’.

cadburyegg · 09/02/2025 21:23

I'd say year 4

pinkroses79 · 09/02/2025 21:23

I would say Year 3, with some questions suitable for Year 2.

ThesebeautifulthingsthatIvegot · 09/02/2025 21:23

The content is all taught in year 2. I can tell this because all of the numbers are within 100, and fractions are limited to half, quarter and three quarters.

The exception, weirdly, is 4x8, which I taught with the four times table in the year three curriculum.

However, it would only be accessible for a very skilled child, particularly the fraction questions. If dd did complete this and is in year two or three, she's very skilled at applying the learning taught.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 09/02/2025 21:24

Year 5

Definitely not year 3 because of the fractions snd basic algebra

It’s an odd sheet. I’m guessing maybe Y5 because of the jumble of stuff and the lack of space for workings out suggests it’s maybe a timed exercise that’s supposed to be about speed?? The content itself though is stuff taught in Y2 but homework for that age would usually follow a topic and be all clocks one week, money the next etc. and they’d be given space to do workings.

theotherplace · 09/02/2025 21:28

Year 2

TenThousandSpoons · 09/02/2025 21:31

Year 4

I'd say year 4

QueenOfThorns · 09/02/2025 21:37

It’s year 3 or 4, can’t remember which. DD had those books at school and absolutely hated them.
