Primary School Offers - When did you get email?

Anyone out there anxiously awaiting primary school offers? I'm more excited than anxious to be fair, but impatiently looking forward to finding out where DS will be going from Sept.

If you have been through this previous years, when did you get the email with the offer? Is it worth staying up till midnight?!

Arghhhh it's doing my head in waiting. Stupid, stupid, stupid London! I'm more excited waiting for this than for my own uni place back in the day!!!

Surrey here and we've not heard yet either

Kent here and we haven't heard yet either. Apparently we have to wait until 4pm! This day is dragging!

Derbyshire here - I got my email at 7:30 am, and we got first choice, which I was a bit surprised at as it is the furthest school from our house, but it is the best of the three we chose.

Surrey is same as London- 5pm

felllow Derbyshire mum here! The wait from midnight (I thought we'd be lucky enough to get the portal update then) was AWFUL, tho i think the wait for the website to load was even worse lol. We also got our first choice! 😍

I was so hoping it was by 4pm and they might come out earlier but does not look like it

I think it's so unfair that they stagger it. I can understand that the helpline can probably only take so many calls and complaints etc but it's so unfair that some counties get it before others

Aren't the helplines local?

Not had ours yet,hoping my son as got into the same school as his big sisters

Ours definitely was- W Sussex has admissions teams in Horsham and Chichester, and you get diverted to your local one.

I wonder whether it's to do with the numbers involved- it seems to be larger counties plus London that do it later.

Not larger counties, North Yorkshire is huge and places are out.

Waiting for Kent here too, it’s agonising especially when you know some have known since bloody midnight! Fingers crossed to everyone still waiting x

Kent here. What's weird is my friend who applied to the same schools has her email and answer but nothing for us.
Hope it's not like the x factor and they batch all the rejects together 😅

Also a londoner patiently waiting 2 more hours! I think we will likely get #1 and tbh im happy with all the options but still on tenterhooks! Cant belive out lockdown babies are so grown up 😭😭😭

They're just different generally. How they structure and staff their admissions services isn't going to be the same, any more than how they organise rubbish collections or whatever. And to be fair I can absolutely see arguments against having things happen at midnight, just from a logistical standpoint if there are any problems. (Although I appreciate I'm saying that from the lofty heights of having had an email at 6 minutes past midnight...)

Oh this makes me nervous! All my Kent friends are still waiting

I know. I feel like I'm waiting for a levels. But seeing as I picked my university based on it being far enough away from my parents, having a good nightlife and graduation gown this feels a more grown up nervousness!

It seems like such a long wait! I'm at the point now of worry if I even submitted correctly even though I can see I have.

We live 0.1m from our school walking and less in a straight line . If we didn't get that one then our journey to school would be 10/15 mins so I am keeping everything crossed

Another Kent mum here, frantically refreshing my emails! I know quite a few parents that have received an email, I was happily to wait until 4pm but the fact people I know have known since 1pm is so annoying

It seems so weird that some people have heard and others have not ! Nothings changed on the portal at all for us

I’m at work today and since 1pm I’ve been so distracted, I am happy with all three on our list but I’d just like to know now, I didn’t feel stressed this morning but as the hours have ticked on and I’ve seen more parents find out, I’ve not been able to concentrate!
