Is anyone else's son studying for the WUS 7+ next week? It's now going online... so I'm now worried this has basically turned it into a Cheaters' Charter. Surely there'll be loads of parents just completing the tests for their kids? What do you think?

@TAFZMom Should be Friday as per @MsMeanwhile. I haven’t dared call them today given that someone suggested they are still interviewing. All parents would want to know what’s happening with results in the webinar. Good it’s a short one as else jumpy parents would have asked useless q’s

StrugglingPa · 19/01/2021 15:03

@icantbelievethis001 I think if parents have multiple offers they should look at a good fit rather than school ratings. The webinar might help some parents who don’t know much about the school or the area (in case they are moving local)

Eitherway · 21/01/2021 11:16

I guess we don’t have offer as school doesn’t bother sending us webinar link this morning and I am not the only one. Quite a few don’t have it.

MsMeanwhile · 21/01/2021 11:18

@Eitherway hope it’s just a technical typo?

Eitherway · 21/01/2021 11:20

I don’t think so. About half I knew didn’t have the link. They apparently only sent to the “offer grou” although they don’t admit it.

annalenav · 21/01/2021 11:49

Really? We got an email saying it will be sent shortly before. I‘d be extremely surprised if they have handled it this way. I am sure it was an IT problem.

Eitherway · 21/01/2021 11:59

It can be easily checked if my assumption is right or not tomorrow.

annalenav · 21/01/2021 12:16

@Eitherway Did you call or email them to tell that you didn’t get the link?

Nowworried · 21/01/2021 12:37

@Eitherway I am inclined to agree with you. I eventually got a link but with no title on it-did anyone get an email with ‘offer group’ as stated? Although the school claims it was just a technical glitch.

Nowworried · 21/01/2021 12:42

@annalenav were you able to get on to the meeting eventually? Messages are conflicting. They seem to suggest the have somewhat concluded but then there was another mention that the conclusion will happen today and emails sent by COB tomorrow.

If anyone has any insight that would be great.

annalenav · 21/01/2021 13:17

@Nowworried we got a link and were able to join. I would not say that it was hugely insightful because to be honest the only thing I am interested now is if he got in. They said that they have spend around 2.5h evaluating each child and feel that they have a very good idea of the candidates. My impression was that they already know but it was not stated explicitly.

annalenav · 21/01/2021 13:17

Apologies for the typos... the nerves

Nowworried · 21/01/2021 13:25

@annalenav sounds like you are one of the lucky ones then-good luck for tomorrow. Did the title on the email say ‘offer group’ as stated by @Eitherway or was it a blank title?
Not much point being a detective- just have to wait patiently.

Eitherway · 21/01/2021 13:36

They don’t want to offer another webinar and it explains everything.

annalenav · 21/01/2021 13:47

@Nowworried 7+ & 8+ Webinar

annalenav · 21/01/2021 13:51

The way the whole thing was handled it was absolutely obvious that the presentation was directed to both parents who’ll get an offer and parents who won’t. I don’t have a quotation in my head but it was definitely not just for offer holders. I am very nervous myself but don’t jump to conclusions.

Nowworried · 21/01/2021 14:05

Perhaps the presentation was directed at both those that have an offer and those that don’t have one but there was probably an admin error that ended up sending to those that have an offer is my thinking. I am hoping it’s not the case and my DS has a chance but I have this sinking feeling but really hoping I am wrong.

MsMeanwhile · 21/01/2021 14:16

We didn’t get the email either. For those lucky to get the email link and joined the webinar, can I know how many parents attending? (Guess if 20 to 30, likely to be just offer holders)

annalenav · 21/01/2021 14:22

@MsMeanwhile I couldn’t see the other parents. I was curious to know how many were in the second round. However it might just be me as I was dialling in from an iPad and I normally only do zoom from computer. Anyone else who could see other participants?

May I know which interview group you were in on Monday? Maybe they messed up the complete callback population mailing list with a group mailing list.

fionaming · 21/01/2021 14:59

We could not see the number of people either. I used my phone

annalenav · 21/01/2021 15:14

@redtooth Monday afternoon

Thanks, then my last hope was gone. They did mess up the offer group with the complete mailing list, as the people I knew also got the emails were in different interview group.

Nowworried · 21/01/2021 16:06

We have two emails registered and both emails did not receive any zoom information. I was told by another DP that the decision making is only being made today- there was an issue with sending emails where some parents received the email just before, others just a little after and others did not receive at all. Results will be out COB tomorrow. So I guess we will all interpret this differently.

Thanks Noworried. It might make sense. So the moment of truth will be tomorrow. Btw, somehow I don't feel the decision is being made today. I feel it should be on the same day or the day after. Did they say they will make the decision today? If so, I must have missed this bit.
