dd1, 4.5 in September, unfortunately dd2 still too young to start playgroup...

Triwizardcupcakes · 28/07/2007 10:10

ds has a new uniform for juniors and he has gone beyond being edible to making me want to cry as he looks so GROWN UP! I can't bear it. It doesn't help that he isn't keen on it. He still wants to wear his old infants uniform as he is nervous about going up.

brimfull · 28/07/2007 10:12

aww remember dd being nervous starting junior and senior school,I was sooo nervous for her,but they're all in it together aren't they and after a few days they're all confident adn lovin it

I've got fab term time contract so looking forward to long holidays for the next 20 yrs. LOL

Tommy · 28/07/2007 10:19

me!
DS2 will be 4 and 8 days

he can't wait (nor can I)

Nemo2007 · 28/07/2007 10:21

sort of DS is starting school nursery 5 mornings on 24th sept, he is more than ready as he is 4 in oct.Ideally he would be going to school full time

oneplusone · 28/07/2007 10:34

Me too, DD is 4 next weekend, and will start mornings only in reception on 21st September (8 weeks to go and counting) and then full time from January. She is definately ready.

DS will start at playgroup next September one morning a week when he's 2.5.

I have to say I see it as a light at the end of the tunnel as I have found it VERY hard being a SAHM for 4 years now and I am very much looking forward to getting a little bit of my own life back.

Eeek · 28/07/2007 10:40

me. Ds will be 4.9. I don't know if he's ready but I definitely am

nutcracker · 28/07/2007 10:43

Me, ds will be 4.9 and doesn't seem phased by it at all.

I on the other hand am feeling crap about it.

Surfermum · 28/07/2007 10:44

Me. DD will be 4.4 and doing half days until after Christmas.

She is sooooooo excited. I cried when she finished at pre-school, so did the teachers - but not dd. She looked at us all puzzled and said she wasn't sad to be leaving as she's off to big school. She'd go tomorrow if she could.

paddingtonbear1 · 28/07/2007 10:49

Me. Dd will be 4.3 - she still seems very little but I think she will be OK. Her best pal is starting at the same time, I think she is quite looking forward to it really. The other week she went for a visit and was quite put out to have to go back to nursery the day after - 'But I'm bigger now Mummy!' she said.

Surfermum, me too. Ds last day at nursery (a week early as sent home with chick pox) went right over his head!

Keeps asking if he's going to school today!

treacletart · 28/07/2007 10:59

DS will be 4.2. Very ready and looking forward to it, only problem is we don't have an official place yet. However, we're first on the waiting list and with 4 form entry chances are high something will come up for September or very soon after. He becomes a big brother in the next few weeks too, so life's going to get very different for him. I'm sure he'll appreciate having the spotlight back on him at school and I'm glad the baby will arrive before he goes so she won't be seen so much as usurping his place once he's gone as it were. All quite scary isn't it?

shergar · 28/07/2007 11:01

Me! DD starts on 4th September, and will be 5 in October. She's very excited.

nutcracker · 28/07/2007 11:05

Was no good Cod, they wanted me to do different shifts each week, which at the time was a no go as DS was only in nursery 2 days.

Have applied for loads of stuff since then though, with no luck I might add.

Toothyboy · 28/07/2007 12:40

Me, Toothyboy. Ds1 4.5. Had a dilemma re part-time/full-time another thread, but have decided to stop being namby pamby and sent him f/t from the off1

whiskersonkittens · 28/07/2007 21:30

Me too - ds will be 5 in Nov

He doesn't really have a clue what is happening, but will be fine

bettythebuilder · 28/07/2007 22:13

yes, dd starts school in september. She'll be 4.8,and is really, really excited. She'll do mornings only for 3 weeks, then full days.

I don't have a clue about uniforms, school shoes, book bags or name labels.I'm tempted to panic, but I'll save that until the last week in August.

Kaz33 · 28/07/2007 22:17

DS2 (4 and 3 months) starts in september, part time until October half term or January depending on how he gets on....

My baby is growing up - moi broody, well a little....

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/07/2007 22:36

Me! DD will be 4.5 when she starts.

There is quite a looooong settling in period at her school.

UnquietDad · 28/07/2007 22:37

Our DS starts in Sept.

He did a taster day towards end of term - when he came out he asked "Can I go again?"

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 28/07/2007 22:45

me dchunessfonroks

DS1 starts 4th September. Big sister will be going into Year 1. So it's all nice and cosy.

He's a bit nervous but he'll be fine. He's June baby, so will be part-time until Easter

hippipotami · 29/07/2007 11:33

Me hippi
dd will start Reception on the 4th Sept. She will go full time on the 17th Sept.
She will be 4.9.

ds will be going into Y4, but the Junior school is on an adjoining site, not the same site, so they won't see eachother.
