What made you proud in you DCs school report (that was NOT to do with academic achievement)?

Each year there is a thread here where people post the things they are most proud about in their children's reports, which has NOTHING to do with grades and academic achievement. It is always my favourite thread. We haven't had reports yet ( I am worried my DD won't have anything positive on a personal level because the teacher doesn't really know or understand her). So, I was wondering what you all had for those positive proud parent moments. Only rule is it can't be about academic achievement.

That she has a lovely sense of humour that she likes to share with the class.

That she loves telling the teacher about books she's read to suggest them as class texts.

My DC are older now but I loved to see the word "enthusiastic". It used to appear all the time about DD1.

My DS moved school recently due to prolonged bullying and it has massively impacted on his self-esteem and confidence to socialise :(

I was so proud of him when I read that he had actively enquired about and volunteered to wear the green vest and man the befriending bench "because he wished there was something like that at his old school to help him and wanted to make sure that no one else felt alone and frightened like him". :)

Y1 DD had a very average report, academic-wise, but every single comment mentions her attitude, enthusiasm and perseverance, and her ability to resist joining in when her best friend (the class clown) starts winding up.

She got pancakes for breakfast after that. Was dead proud.

THESE are the things that life is about! Thank you all for sharing! These things are what make our DC so wonderful. I so hope that there are some bits of these in my children's reports when they come!!!

Not on her report but I met one of my DDs teachers for the first time last week, DD has been at the school for about 6/7 weeks and I am due to start there as a teacher in

When I met the teacher (who I will actually be working with in sept) we got on really well, just clicked and she told me of the moment she realised that DD was the daughter of the 'new teacher' and said to me "I just knew you would be nice because your DD is absolutely lovely, so polite and kind with a great sense of humour and it feels like she's been in the class since the beginning".

I was so genuinely touched about the compliment to DD and just felt sooooo proud of her that she was a shining beacon for our family. Especially as we have had a huge upheaval in recent months (relocating from one end of the country to the other!).

That ds1 brightens up his teacher's day (he's not easy but his teacher this year really gets him) and that ds2 is getting more confident - he also got the highest mark for effort in every subject.

They are very different but have both made me super proud with their reports this year in different ways.

He has impeccable manners, is sensitive and honest and has made a lot of friends because of it. (DS(Y2)).

"I will miss her bright, smiling face and lovable character but I know she will make friends [at her new school] very quickly " (DD (YR)).

So very proud of them both.

As a teacher, it is such a pleasure to see that parents want to hear about more than academics. I try so hard to ensure thar every child has a genuine comment that has nothing to do with their grades!

One of dd2s teachers wrote that she was a lovely pupil to have in class which made me very sniffly.

DS has just finish yr7 and one teacher commented that he always thanked her for the lesson on leaving the classroom. I asked him if he did this with every lesson and he said he thanked all his teachers...if he liked them!

"Minisilverdale puts the colour in the rainbow, she can play with friends but is equally independent to play alone, normally to make grand plans of mischief. She needs firm boundaries but only because she wants to explore the limits of everything. Minisilverdale you are lovely and if I was 5 I'd want to be your friend"

Paraphrased, I ADORE our reception teacher but she's leaving before DD3 goes

DD3s teacher wrote that she has a very individual personality and lots of character. She then went on to write 3 lines about how she has enjoyed teaching DD3 this year and that she is sure she will shine as well next year.

I LOVE this! The thought of my child ever being bullied breaks my heart so for you to read this about your DS must have felt amazing. What a mature & kind hearted boy, hope he enjoys the rest of his school years!

Haven't got this year's report yet, but last year, my not so sporty ds got above average for "effort" in PE, which made me really proud.

Not had his report this year but most proud that he made some huge strides in basic skills that most children can do at three or four (ds has sensory and motor control issues that means this was very hard for him) and that he will play with anyone in his class with no issues. He accepts everyone and loves everyone.

My DS aged 5 apparently plans his tasks and plans how to tackle a problem rather than apply a 'hit and miss' approach - I loved that! His teacher knows my little boy very well! He has always been an observer and a thinker and he is very analytical.

DD (Y4) Teacher comments in a nutshell " Delightful girl, considerate, kind, trustworthy, polite, always smiling and cheerful and an excellent role model for her peers and younger pupils"
Cried my eyes out! Means so much more than the assessment page of the report.

I can't remember the exact comment but basically shes gone from being really shy and quiet (lacking self confidence) to always putting her hand up to answer questions. She gave a presentation on her own at assembly and she has been volunteering to take on extra responsibilities in the class room and for school fund raising events.

Her teacher this year has been amazing at building her confidence, she also had a small class size this year (18) and I think this has made a difference. Before this point she was one of the quiet and well behaved but invisible children - you know the type.
