I can't remember what DS1 had even though it was only 3 years ago.

I am sure there is a note from school somewhere if I rummage. Blush

Calculators are supplied I know that.

I've just told my girl about this thread. She says they just have to put their pen, pencil etc on the desk and everything else stays in their bags on the floor.

I mentioned that some kids weren't allowed novelty pencil toppers - she rolled her eyes and said 'For God's sake'.

I love that child Grin

A breakfast of cards? I bet that's ace.

We have a day out on Friday, a meal, a visit to the local shopping centre and a boat ride, the children love it!

That's what happens when I try to type while negotiating lights out times with DS2!

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2013 20:13

This is good. I am sure the teachers will love it.

I REALLY want one of those!!! If they were a bit cheaper I'd buy one each for my year sixes as a post-SAT treat.

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2013 20:28

Would make a great photo Stuffez. Grin

I don't think we have to provide anything, but DS likes to have his own stuff, so will probably get him a few new bits. He's thrilled that they have been told they're allowed chewing gum. I am a bit Hmm about that.

pointythings · 10/05/2013 20:37

Are you kidding me, OP? SATs start Monday and the school want him to do more drill over the weekend? I'd be feeding the whole blooming pile to my dog. And I don't even have a dog.

DD2 is in this boat next year, she'll be the second cohort in the school doing SATs as we've only recently gone two tier. I have no idea how pushy the school is going to be about it, though I do know they have been flogging revision guides at £13.50 a pop. Needless to say we will not be buying them.

bigTillyMint · 10/05/2013 20:38

Sparkling, where did you get the clear pencil case? I was searching everywhere a couple of weeks ago for DS!

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2013 20:40

It was DS1's Tilly but possibly Wilkinsons knowing me.

No homework for DD this weekend; her teacher has told them specifically not to cram this weekend. Would rather they were fresh & rested :).

Breakfast clubs & Clear pencil cases all foreign to me, nothing like that here.

they are bowling on Friday.

bigTillyMint · 10/05/2013 21:10

Aahhh, didn't look there. Next year I'll get searching earlier!

Feenie · 10/05/2013 21:28

I do know they need a black pen for the SPAG test but our school is providing those as well.

Not necessarily - a 2B pencil is also recommended. You would need to be very brave to get them to use pen only!

StuffezLaYoni · 10/05/2013 21:51

We aren't using pen in anything - HB only and 2B for the SPaG.

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2013 21:52

No mention of black pens that I know of.

Just reread the admin guide - 2B pencils or black pens are only specified for the Level 6 Reading or Level 6 SPAG. Wonder why? Odd. Confused

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2013 23:02

Mmmm. DS1 is doing level 6. Let's hope they can provide him with the correct pen. Confused

cece · 10/05/2013 23:04

Perhaps I read the wrong bit! I don't do the SPAG as my job share does that, so not really paying much attention to it I expect Blush

crunchbag · 10/05/2013 23:12

No breakfast club, toast or clear pencil cases at DS school. Either school provides all stationary or they just use whatever they have in their pencil case, I don't really know.

DS actually did get some homework but he won't have time to do it, we have other things planned.

L6 papers are scanned and marked automatically apparently so needs strong marks on the page

Feenie · 10/05/2013 23:22

It wouldn't be possible to scan the Reading test though?

Picturesinthefirelight · 10/05/2013 23:32

Sorry OT but what on earth is a SPAG?

snice · 10/05/2013 23:33

No sorry-you just need 2B pencil/black pen for SpaG I think

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 10/05/2013 23:35

We have free breakfast club all week as a bribe to get them in on time, but no mention of stationery.
