Would you have an issue with a tattooed primary teacher?

ThanksSmile

no

Littlepurpleprincess · 29/02/2012 20:54

Doesn't even matter if you can see them does it? Unless he's got "FUCK" tattooed across his forehead.....

TheCrunchUnderfoot · 29/02/2012 20:55

Wonderful slip there TSC Grin

seeker · 29/02/2012 20:55

[grin]@tarts. Many a true word.....

seeker · 29/02/2012 20:57

Wouldn't matt to me if they were visible- well, I could live with it. But if he wants to get through interviews........

maddiemostmerry · 29/02/2012 20:57

No, it is on the top of his arm.

TheSecondComing, nothing on his knuckles!

Thanks everyone

If there were many tattoos all over then I may be a bit Hmm but for no reason, I suppose I would be surprised as it is very unusual in that situation. It doesn;t mean I'd be up in arms.

One or two - no, I wouldn't have an issue tbh. I would assume most schools would expect him to have them covered as much as possible though, ime.

countessbabycham · 29/02/2012 20:58

TheSecondComing are you talking about tears on the face? I thought they were Borstal tears?

roguepixie · 29/02/2012 20:59

Swastikas on the forehead (yes, I have seen them Shock or 'cut here' round his neck would make me think hmmm Hmm, but otherwise, no. Wouldn't bother me at all.

Moln · 29/02/2012 20:59

One of those fantastic autocorrects there TSC!!!

Yama · 29/02/2012 21:00

Unless, it's a Nazi/White Supremist/sexist/other type of offensive tatt then I'm fine.

bigTillyMint · 29/02/2012 21:00

Absolutely no problem then - the children are unlikely to see it anyway Grin

AllotmentLottie · 29/02/2012 21:01

The top of his arm? How would I know? My DS has two male teachers, and two male headteachers. I have no idea what tattoos they have on the tops of their arms, as they are always in long trousers, long sleeves and a tie.

I guess maybe when they do swimming I might see. Then, as long as they were not offensive words or something, I wouldn't care.

AThingInYourLife · 29/02/2012 21:02

:o at RC priest and his tarts :o

The thing is though, Moln has really made me think...

How do we stop people become teachers that have "I hate kids" tattooed where it could be easily hidden? What if it was on their arse, or their foot or something?

I think we need to insist on a yearly bare arse tattoo check for all teachers to avoid this potential hazard.

kickingking · 29/02/2012 21:08

At the school I teach at, mist of the (young female) staff have tattoos.

No, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Unless it was something racist or overtly sexual (once saw a man with a tattoo of a graphic sexual act on his forearm, which was vile)

maddiemostmerry · 29/02/2012 21:08

Tarts indeedGrin

I guess it would only be visible at swimming or on residential school trips if he was wearing a t shirt.

Athing, do you really want him to show you his arse1

alicethehorse · 29/02/2012 21:09

I used to know a guy with Brain Damage tattooed on his head (seriously! Nice guy actually).
I would probably have a problem with that in a primary school setting!

But a bird on an arm? Not at all.
