And yes I can't beleive that I think it's too casual to the classroom. It seems wrong to me, I would not wear them to work (but then again I work from home!).

I buy mine at festivals, hand-crafted and beautifully soft on the toes.
Except when I'm wearing M&S footgloves.
Real tweed smells of wet dog and wee when it gets damp, it's also not very flexible. So not a good choice for primary.

weevilswobble · 20/12/2011 19:13

....and parents should be able to drop their children at school in pyjamas.

Dustinthewind · 20/12/2011 19:14

Anything not quite so pink, EvilTwins?
I'm more of a peacock colours and purple type.

weevilswobble · 20/12/2011 19:15

Gentleman teachers can have patches magic.

Dustinthewind · 20/12/2011 19:16

Parents in pyjamas?
Shock
Disgraceful, SS should be on the gate making a list.

tethersjinglebellend · 20/12/2011 19:18

Oh dear. Irregular Choice are after Uggs on my hitlist.

I'm in cowboy boots. Yee-hah Wink

EvilTwins · 20/12/2011 19:18

Defintely peacock colours but not really flat (at all) Xmas Grin

Dustinthewind · 20/12/2011 19:19

Cowboy boots, now we're talking!
Spurs?
whip?

Dustinthewind · 20/12/2011 19:21

Lovely colours ET, but how robust are they?
Could you scrub glue and paint off them?

BandOMothers · 20/12/2011 19:21

I am happy for them to wear what they want...if they are happy and comfortable I don't care if they dress up as Smurfs! It's what they do and say with my DC that matters.

tethersjinglebellend · 20/12/2011 19:21

Au naturellement, Dustin.

Dustinthewind · 20/12/2011 19:22

Perhaps parents of taste could club together and buy the teacher some shoes and apparel they approve of. Christmas and end of year gifts sorted.

MagicMountain · 20/12/2011 19:24

Lovely shoes.
Smile

fairimum · 20/12/2011 19:34

do you sit on the floor for circle time at work? stand in the play ground? play parachute games? do cooking? sticking? playdoh? - i did all these things teaching year 3 (playdoh was for doing 3d shapes in numeracy etc)... nothing wrong with this at all!

JambalayaWarmMincePie · 20/12/2011 19:36

I wear these. They are loved by staff and students alike.

snowball3 · 20/12/2011 19:44

Nothing but Birkenstocks for me, I have bad feetXmas Hmm

mrz · 20/12/2011 19:55

I have a bad back so always have a pair of flats handy for emergencies

Dustinthewind · 20/12/2011 20:03

A bad back?
Nothing to do with all those inappropriate heels then mrz?
Oh no, of course not. Xmas Grin

Lucycat · 20/12/2011 20:10

For gawd's sake don't tell the Daily Mail - they'd have us shot.

We wouldn't be allowed to wear them in our secondary though.

As a geography teacher I aspire to wear a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches and a bit of chalk n the pocket to draw a perfectly annotated meander at the drop of a hat - i would also like a beard. Smile

mrz · 20/12/2011 20:21

Actually I had a bad accident about 8 years ago and ruptured a disc and couldn't wear any shoes for a long time Xmas Grin

EvilTwins · 20/12/2011 20:38

Lucycat - why ever not? I am secondary, and not the only one who wears pretty shoes.

Dotty342kids · 20/12/2011 22:31

Eviltwinz and Mrz, I think I love you and your shoes. I'm going to go to sleep trying to work out how all those shoes can be made to fit my work from home, school run, dog walking lifestyle.
I salute you and your dementedly beautiful shoes!

Oh, and I hate Uggs on anyone over the age of 18 too....

Lucycat · 20/12/2011 23:12

i was referring to Uggs - not pretty shoes Grin
