Teachers wearing Ugg/simlar boots at school?

And yes I can't beleive that I think it's too casual to the classroom. It seems wrong to me, I would not wear them to work (but then again I work from home!).

I love Irregular Choice shoes and often wear them for school the more "irregular" the better Xmas Wink

EvilTwins · 20/12/2011 18:10

Ooo, mrz - like those! I want these but can just imagine DH's expression Xmas Hmm With dull black trousers for work though... fabulous.

MagicMountain · 20/12/2011 18:17

I love the way EvilTwins flaunts those shoes.

Much more interesting than UGGs.

mrz · 20/12/2011 18:18

Wow!
I've just bought
these and
these are an old favourite

mrz · 20/12/2011 18:19

In reception they enjoy the pictures on the soles and we make up stories about the characters ... sad I know Xmas Grin

mrz · 20/12/2011 18:21

Now I need these pirate topic!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 20/12/2011 18:24

I like those shoes. I wouldn't risk them in the lab though, as there is a chance they'd get covered in "stuff". Also I can't do heels. I usually wear Dr Martens shoes, on the basis that nothing will be able to melt them.

mrz · 20/12/2011 18:33

My footwaer (well all my wear) is dependent on what I am doing. Walking boots or wellies for forest school. Heels for meetings/interviews and flats for comfort

EvilTwins · 20/12/2011 18:52

Special Christmas Assembly shoes

Xmas Smile

With black wrap dress.

I wear mine to work. I am a TA, was a teacher previously. I don't think they are too casual looking tbh. I wear them with skirts and dresses and thick tights. They keep my feet warm on playground duty and when doing outdoor learning, which can be any day and any time. They are flat and comfortable. I can't wear heels in a classroom all day, tbh since having arthritis I cant wear heels at all anyway - these are flat and they don't hurt my feet either.

Hulababy · 20/12/2011 18:59

I also wear leggins to school sometimes - but only with long tunics or skirts. I wear them like thick tights. They don;t look scruffy imo. Would never wear leggings as trousers anywhere.

MagicMountain · 20/12/2011 19:02

They are exceptionally cool shoes mrz and EvilTwins (and I am not even a shoe person). I can see why they might be a talking point.

I thought teachers were all issued with Hush Puppy vouchers when they finished their training. None of this deviation via Uggs and other such Irregularities. Xmas Grin

mrz · 20/12/2011 19:03

I have a red velvet dress for Christmas carols www.kurtgeiger.com/women/amiable-18.html

MagicMountain · 20/12/2011 19:05

Ooh do stop, mrz. Wink

Dustinthewind · 20/12/2011 19:05

So, back to the OP.
Feel free to judge away, and many of us teachers will continue to judge the quality of parenting that we see, and the world will continue to turn along a predictable orbit.

EvilTwins · 20/12/2011 19:05
Xmas Envy
mrz · 20/12/2011 19:06

Can you tell I'm a shoeaholic!!

Dustinthewind · 20/12/2011 19:06

I do like that last pair though mrz, if the heel wasn't quite so high. Smile

MagicMountain · 20/12/2011 19:06

See what you started!

MagicMountain · 20/12/2011 19:07

I don't think it is possible to get funky flat shoes, is it? You would probably have to get the stencil and glue out and customise your own.

weevilswobble · 20/12/2011 19:09

All teachers should wear tweed. Its proper.

TidyDancer · 20/12/2011 19:10

Uggs are vile, but on principle, of course this teacher is not wrong! People do take umbridge with the strangest things sometimes!

MagicMountain · 20/12/2011 19:11

With or without elbow patches, weevil?

EvilTwins · 20/12/2011 19:11

Funky flats possibly a bit impractical though

EvilTwins · 20/12/2011 19:12

flat-ish and beautiful
