What can she wear??

Dd11 is a footballer. She wants to wear football kits every day. I can get her into cycling shorts and a tshirt at a push. Absolutely no to dresses or leggings.

What can I get her to wear when we go out? I hate 'forcing' her to wear clothes she doesn't want to, but equally sometimes you need to dress a bit more smart. Anyone got any suggestions?

Capri pants and nice top.
Smart jeans
Cargo pants

She should wear whatever she is happy and comfortable in.

She doesn’t need to look ‘smart’. She needs to feel happy with who she is.

Dungarees shorts.
skater wear.

Summerdew · 31/07/2024 19:24

fortheveryfirsttime · 31/07/2024 19:25

What occasions does she need to dress more smartly? Wedding, christening? What else?

I don't see the

... don't see the issue with letting her wear what she wants day to day.

pizzaHeart · 31/07/2024 19:42

Would she like t shirts more if they were with suitable slogans?

I'll be the judge of if she needs to look smart or not thanks

Clean cycle shorts and t shirt?

fortheveryfirsttime · 02/08/2024 14:33

@thequickbrowndog you didn't mention a party actually, you were vague and said going out which could mean a wedding or a trip to B&M.

Why would I care what she wears to the shops?? Of course going out means going out!!

I thought it was clear what you meant, OP. My daughter hates dresses but I bought a few jumpsuits (one denim, the others patterned jersey fabric) and she loves those and will happily wear them. She finds them comfortable to wear and they look lovely. They were from FatFace. One was new but I found the others on Vinted.

Marblessolveeverything · 02/08/2024 18:34

Wel to match your rudeness to others, she is 11 so I would let her be comfortable. Why are you forcing your view of what she should wear.

Is it because you feel judged by her choices? because society gives little or no fucks what a child wears, those days have gone.

But society will judge her manners if they reflect yours on here!

😂😂😂

enjoy it while you can, I suspect it won’t be long before she totally ignores you if that’s your attitude.

And yet again you show yourself up. Do you think you sound clever having no manners?

Hopefully your daughter takes a different path. Because I can tell you it will be your and her manners people remember over your outfit. Do better!

All the sporty girls around here are wearing Montirex.

thequickbrowndog · 03/08/2024 17:07

@Marblessolveeverything oh please, "showing myself up" on an anonymous chat group. Get a life, maybe get a hobby so you don't spend your life getting upset about people's manners. People who you judge from a few sentences. You do better.
