What can she wear??

Dd11 is a footballer. She wants to wear football kits every day. I can get her into cycling shorts and a tshirt at a push. Absolutely no to dresses or leggings.

What can I get her to wear when we go out? I hate 'forcing' her to wear clothes she doesn't want to, but equally sometimes you need to dress a bit more smart. Anyone got any suggestions?

I thought it was clear what you meant, OP. My daughter hates dresses but I bought a few jumpsuits (one denim, the others patterned jersey fabric) and she loves those and will happily wear them. She finds them comfortable to wear and they look lovely. They were from FatFace. One was new but I found the others on Vinted.

Yes! That sounds perfect. She finds clothes uncomfortable (probably because she lives in football kits) I will have a look at fat face, thank you

I’m not a fan of leggings or cycle shorts. He about a utility or cargo skirt with a fairly plain baggy t shirt. Lots of the older girls that aren’t girly dressers have this sort of look now.

DSD (12) lives in this type of thing!

I love this! I don't think DD would go for it though unfortunately

Edited

That would look cute actually with a little pair of trainers. I'll look for a cargo skirt, thanks

I don't know why you're getting so much stick, OP. You asked a perfectly reasonable question. And yes, sometimes events require clothing smarter than a football kit. Obviously 🙄

I don't think you can go wrong with a play suit or jumpsuit. If it's a loose fit and soft fabric, hopefully she won't be too uncomfortable.

If she can be tempted by a dress, New Look have some lovely age appropriate, but fashionable choices. DD is nearly 13 and has bought lots from there.

@Marblessolveeverything oh please, "showing myself up" on an anonymous chat group. Get a life, maybe get a hobby so you don't spend your life getting upset about people's manners. People who you judge from a few sentences. You do better.

And you keep on going 🤦‍♀️. I have plenty of hobbies, thank you.

Are you okay? Because you sound like a very angry person with a more than a fashion issue. There is literally no reason to be calling people names and is against the forum charter. Honestly it becomes clear how lacking society is these days.

Gotta love a tough guy behind her keyboard dishing it out and then complaining to mumsnet and having it deleted when she gets some back. Ridiculous on a thread about kids clothes. Get a grip!
