Just seen this new bit & thought I'd get it started & say hello.
DS2 was born at 28wks & we went through all the normal ups & downs in SCBU.
Ds2 is 5 now & although does have some life long disabilities as a result of his prem birth he is an amazing, happy healthy little boy.

Hi

I was born 35 years ago at 29 weeks and am all fine and dandy.
I am running the Paris Half Marathon in March for Bliss, the premature baby charity, if anyone would like to sponsor me, let me know and I can give you my justgiving webpage
Thanks you

Ooo, I did Paris Half a few years ago - it is so much fun, a great course, and thousands of people supporting. When I did it all the different fire stations on the route brought their engines out and put the ladders up across the course, and the firemen sat on them and cheered! Really made my day.

Please do put up your justgiving page, I'd love to support you.

Penny, that would be great. I am looking forward to it but more than a little apprehensive. If you could give me your email I will send the link its just that the site has my real name on it!

Nah been on here for about 3 years, I just change my name very regularly. DS has a mixture of problems he is nearly 9 and has a educational age of 5, but, he is very lazy I have to push/drag him to do lots. His Cp is quite mild, his is spastic diplegia, he is week (due to the prematurity) with an over lying stiffness due to CP. His hips are really playing him up at the moment. The docs are considering stretching his tendons at the moment, but it might not work due to the prematurity. He has the traditonal long thin face which is a feature of most prem babies and he will have to have his jaw realigned at some point due to his small mouth and over crowding teeth.

Ah maybe I have seen you about under another name then?
DS2 has mild spastic diplegia, so has a stiff bottom half but his upper body is too floppy & flexible due to low muscle tone, he is lazy too, although I don't think its a prem thing I just think he takes after dh.
He also has GDD although his most recent assessments have changed that dx to Autism & learning difficulties. His stiffness isn't too bad but does tire so easily, I can only get him to walk very short distances (i know i shouldn't moan, at least he's walking).
DS2's head is big but misshapen, so he's got that prem look from the back but his cheeks are so chubby it hides that long face look - but he is handsome honestly .
