My SIL has been taken into hospital to be given steroids in preparation... they've been currently told maybe the 27th but to prepare for their son to arrive over Christmas...

My brother and his girlfriend are very young and nieave, has anyone got any experience with this? They are just excited to see him, and aren't really worried.

Nec is very serious, they thought my son had it, but thankfully it was just an infection. Hopefully they have it wrong too op.

Thankyou for your replies, he should be there now so they will be doing everything they need to do, I've been speaking to my brother and Beijing encouraging and supportive for him, but inside I'm terrified. Hopefully it isn't NEC but if it is he's in the best place, and just hope to god they are able to stop it before it gets too serious xx

Our little warrior was born at 29+1 wks with severe IUGR, he weighed just 1lb 6oz. He spent 11 weeks on NICU, and was discharged just two days after his due date Smile He's now 9 years old.

@EggysMom I'm glad to hear he's doing so well, did he have NEC?

My son was born at 38+1 with IUGR which kicked in around 8 weeks earlier, he was on 0.4 centile. Now nearly 1 and really thriving!
