Hi everyone, I'm really hoping someone out there is able to get me through the next 48hrs or so.
So at half 2 today I took my first tablet for an abortion, it's now 6.30pm and I'm feeling a little sick?
I'm really dreading the next 24hrs and tomorrow taking the other 4/6 tablets. Has anyone got any tips/reassurance to get me through 🥲
I'm so scared 😪

Hey lovely,
how are you feeling now?
I had a medical termination 7 weeks ago at around 6/7 weeks gestation.
I was soooooooooo nervous. I read and read and read stories online which just made it all that bit worse.
I felt fine after the first tablet, then around 5:30pm the next day I did the next 4 vaginally. I also took 30 mins before this paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine. I had a hot water bottle ready and put on big pants and a massive sanitary towel. Tbh I had about an hour of cramping then fairly painful for about 30 minutes when I passed the pregnancy at about 8pm. Then the pain subsided. It was honestly no where near as bad as I had it in my head, but obviously not a nice experience to go through.
Please keep me updated with you are, sending you lots of love. Xx

Hey I felt so nauseous with my first pill I was miserable. I didn’t have any morning sickness beforehand so mine was from the pill, Apparently it’s pretty common, you maybe able to get anti sickness tablets if it’s really bad. The stories online are a lot worse than my experience had about 2.5hrs of cramps little bleeding around 3hours cramps built up I had about 10 minutes of intense pain went to the loo and passed the pregnancy. It’s never going to be a pleasant experience, I was scared but in reality didn’t need to be. Just remember you have a lot of emotions going on. Hope it goes ok for you x

Thank you so much for the reply. I feel a little better but no appetite so didn't fancy any dinner.
I'm so nervous for tomorrow, I'm on my own so I'm thinking the worst 😞
Without to much info, I'm not very good at putting thrush tablets up me when Iv had to in the past, I'm worried I won't put them up far enough? Or what if they fall out?

I just don't know what to expect, how long did it take to start bleeding/cramping?
Will I know when Iv passed the pregnancy?

Honestly I think you will know when you pass it. The intense cramps just sort of stopped and went back to period cramps for me. I couldn’t really see anything in the loo because of the blood (I didn’t bleed loads probably heavy period level if that) blood in the loo when I went but not much on my pad. Getting the pills up just do your best (that’s what the nurse said) I lay down for 30mins in bed with the iPad to make sure they didn’t come out. I don’t think I went to the loo for a good 1.5hrs I didn’t want them to come out too soon! I also took the additional 2pills in my mouth after 3hrs to make sure xx

Ehc1989 · 10/08/2022 21:01

@Summer221 i started the process alone, my husband didn’t come home until a few hours in, tbh I could’ve done it by myself as he didn’t do much anyway!
I just laid on the bed and pushed them all as far as I could, I wasn’t sure I had pushed them up much but it did the job. I laid there for about 30 minutes just to ensure they started to do the job.
if you are worried you can always take them orally but I know that can cause sickness
For me, it took about 2 hours for any cramping to happen. I took the final 2 orally 3 hours later as I had already started bleeding.
I didn’t look into the toilet but I definitely heard things land in there. I just couldn’t bare to look so I just flushed. I kept returning to the toilet often, walking around helped get things moving.
Please try not to worry too much, I promise it is over before you know it. Will be thinking of you, let me know xx

Okay thanks! Il just do the same & hope for the best.
Yeah I really don't want to be sick so taking them orally really puts me off.
Do you think aslong as they don't fall out they will work?

I think I'm also going to go with your approach and don't look.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to me xx

@Summer221 just wanted to drop you a note to say I’m thinking of you and send you a virtual handhold. I’m planning on doing this alone next week and it’s making me feel awful.

@Summer221 try walking around a bit, I found that helped. Also maybe try watch a film or something and relax. Easier said than done I know!

I'm still in quite bad pain with the cramping. Is this normal to go on this long?

I'm still in quite bad pain with the cramping, the bleeding is bearable but the cramps are not 🤢 I think in my head I thought this would be over with by now 😞

Try just sitting on the toilet gor a while. It might help things to get moving.

I don't really know what I'm 'waiting' for, I'm having clots, I did pass a greyish in colour fleshy thing the size of a jelly bean this afternoon. The bleeding is very manageable I just wish the pain and cramping would atleast subside 🥲

@Summer221 have you got both paracetamol and ibuprofen? I was told today to take a double dose of the ibuprofen, along with the codeine
